What’s something that feels like a 'normal adult expense' now that would have shocked you 10 years ago?

FWIW I work for a Veterinary Practice, that is privately owned by a couple and some directors. They don’t want to charge as much as much as they do. People forget that a small practice can’t house stock like Animed or PetDrugsOnline and defo can’t buy in bulk like they do, getting discounts. Plus a number of other things that mean they have to charge more than online pharmacies (basically overheads). People praise us for how great, personable and amazing our practice is, and in the same breath moan about the cost. If you want great independent vets, pay their prices or go to a corporate one.

Neighbours being unreasonable? What can I do?

How many times a week do you pour yourself a glass of wine/have a beer after work?

So much nicer. No hangover, everything becomes better (sex, wank, eating a chocolate bar, watching the box), quicker. The list goes on. 💨 🐉

As soon as OP snapped he doesn’t have a leg to stand on though. Imagine if he just stayed silent and talked to his manager instead? This post wouldn’t exist and his manager would likely respect him more.

Perhaps OP hasn’t been in the working, professional world for long. The toxic group chat and toxic manager should not be met with the same attitude. As a manager myself, and sometimes not a particularly good one, I’d appreciate my team coming to me individually to coach me, instead of outing me publicly. Fighting fire with fire rarely extinguishes anything.

Have you thought about muting/archiving it? So as to not “publicly” leave and cause anything? Although looking at your long message, you don’t mind doing things publicly.

Do not get dragged into the trap of “what’s best camera to buy under £xxx”. I recently got bogged down and overwhelmed with the choice and styles. I got overwhelmed with thinking that anything “old” is bad and eventually blowing my budget blah blah blah Pick a camera (and lens if applicable) that you like the look of and go take photos!

My partner earns significantly more than I do. So we do percentages into the joint account. We both put x% in (I think about 45) to cover the joint account. Mortgage, fuel, bills, etc And then we both put money into savings (personal and joint), overpay the mortgage etc and we’re both left with a tidy sum each month to do as we please.

3k. Small ceremony with 15 people on the Friday, and bought them all dinner at a local restaurant. Big party at a local venue the next day for the rest of the family and friends, paid for the first round of drinks.
