Tradies - what am I doing wrong here?

Funnily enough, I'm thinking about doing an evening or weekend course on plastering, considering the amount they charge nowadays. If it's something I can learn to do myself, would be saving around £10k for completing a house.

What would you do if you won £1 billion?

Retire immediately (I'm currently in my early 30s). Houses, cars, holidays, for me and my immediate family. The rest, I'd find a way to spend.

Why would my taxi driver accept my journey, but then nearly changed his mind and make it awkward because he was fasting?

I'm also like this, whenever I do squats or deadlifts, I start dripping with sweat. Any other (weights) exercise, and at most, I'll have a couple of beads.

While what you've stated here makes sense, labelling it "trashy" is what would be problematic (and I assume what the question from the person you're responding to was alluding to, with the racism question).

What was the UK reaction to 9/11?

Ha-Ur-Ra-Sa@reddit

That's one of my most defining memories around 9/11 - coming home from primary school hoping to watch CBBC or CITV as usual, but channels 1-5 (we didn't have Sky/cable) were all showing news coverage.

The "borrow" one used to drive me insane, even when I was in school. You'd always hear "can you borrow me a pen?", I thought I was the only one that knew this was wrong FFS.

Ha-Ur-Ra-Sa@reddit

Yeah, nature would be my main attraction but generally like exploring cities too (along with usual tourist attractions).  From the brief things I've read, I was expecting 5 days or so to be enough, but two weeks! That definitely sounds worth a trip!

How often do you shower/have a bath?

Posted by EllieanoreD@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 2161 comments

Ha-Ur-Ra-Sa@reddit

Huh, funnily enough, I was the same as a 90s kid from a very working class background.  Add in immigrant parents who came over from hot countries (and where they would shower daily) and so the cold was never causing much of a sweat, can see why the routine was as it was.

Ha-Ur-Ra-Sa@reddit

I was going to come in and comment something very similar. Will shower before work, but by the time I get in, I'll be a sweaty mess, which is then compounded by anxiety (which prolongs the sweating), which makes me smell straightaway.  I'll need to look into these anti-bacterial body wipes, see if they help.

England's lost, how do you feel?

It is mainly the manager.  The players in the squad are good enough to be winning trophies. But when you have someone who has close to 0 element of risk in his make-up, it's going to be very difficult to do so. He's the epitome of an inoffensive "yes-man", who's just so happened to have an insane amount of luck in his time as boss. Other than not having the confidence to play possession-based, attacking football, he also doesn't have the guts to drop players for the betterment of the team (e.g. Harry Kane has been terrible all tournament, trying to shoehorn Foden, Bellingham, Saka and playing them in unusual positions, the defence).  So, wasn't really surprising that they lost today tbh.
