Sunshine on my shoulders was my mom’s favorite song. I played her all of her favorite songs for her while she was in hospice to comfort her. Sunshine was the last song she heard before she passed. Always been one of my favorite songs too, my whole life, but I can’t listen to it anymore without losing my shit and it’s been almost ten years. I’m crying just writing this.

What is your favorite band from the 80's or 90's that nobody has ever heard of?

Do you recognize her from the first photo? I didn’t! For as much as I loved her in the early 90’s, I’m thrilled that she is living a “normal” life on her own terms. Your thoughts?

Why were "adult" directors able to get us in the 80's & 90's, but today's are less than clueless?

Oh man. I should have stayed a Blaine girl but have been making bad decisions because of Steff for a very long time. Sigh. Went for the bad guys very quickly and still making questionable choices. Our James Spader continues to be fine AF. I stand by that. Andrew McCarthy is a cool author and documentarian now too. Also still fine AF.

I unabashedly loved this movie. The soundtrack was all I listened to on my Walkman. I wanted to be Andi and I was in love with Blaine. And, wait for it, I loved her dress. I tried to make one just like it for my Barbie. I was 10, but I’ll own it! I agree that the other dresses were prettier and better but the fact that she made something herself from those two things spoke to me. Yes it should have been better but I still love it. I will always love the movie for the nostalgia and the soundtrack is still peak perfection. I’ve already made a date with my best friends from high school and I’m traveling to visit them and seeing this again in the theater is top on our agenda.

Tears For Fears. Most recent album The Tipping Point from 2022 was an absolute masterpiece. I saw them in concert on tour for that album, they just get better as they age, as do we!

I feel like we’ve all won this game! 😆

I have a side gig that brings me to a 55+ place monthly. Those folks are party animals. They drink as much as college kids, they just know to hydrate and take ibuprofen.

Weird question--did you eat avocados as a kid? I don't remember even seeing an avocado until my 20s.

Asparagus was my mushy arch enemy, I think they boiled it and I had to spit it into a napkin every time. Now that I know how to cook it, it’s my best friend.

I moved to central PA as a kid and the accent never stopped driving me nuts and I never picked it up. I moved away in late teens but still have friends there and when I visit it’s so strange to hear it again.

My (borderline boomer, but yeah boomer) sister brought up something I did when I was a child/early teen at Christmas this year. It was something that I had no idea or memory that I did and no way to know was not the thing to do. My initial reaction is fawn, and of course I apologized but yeah fucking sandpaper. I also had a family call the other day where they all shot down a great work opportunity I have coming up “jokingly”. I just roll with it and stew in the aftermath. I need to get some freaking boundaries.
