What is the worst encounter you've had with an animal?

Of a similar vein, I once (on a coach) punched a wasp inside my shirt when it stung me, and its whole rear end ended up ‘inside’ my chest. Once I got to the sports club I was heading to, I believe I took a knife from the kitchen and removed it from my chest in the toilets, was a weird one!

I wouldn’t even feel uncomfortable about that one. I like to think I have good self-control, but nearly hitting your baby in the pram and then spewing that nonsense…some people need a good hiding.

I remember a policeman shoving an old boy to the ground outside a footy stadium, blokes nose exploded. Poor guy was an innocent bystander as well, police just decided to mow down anyone in the way as they created a ‘zone’ around the trouble.

More than I care to admit. Attacked by 12 kids at school back in the day, that was messy. Played rugby for two decades so it sort of came with the territory. Numerous night out scuffles. ‘Happy slapped’ in the street once which ended badly for him and his mate. Lots of youth and stupidity. Can’t be bothered with that anymore, wife and kids etc. However if someone broke into the house they’d have a bad night.

What's the best singular pint you can have?

Posted by Complex_Foot_3862@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 34 comments

DependentAd2274@reddit

I partake in the pre-flight pint, but I always think it tastes like shit. I wonder if it's because a lot of my flights have been early, and I'm just not in the mood for it. Either that or they don't look after the beer. I'd say first beer of the year whilst starting up the bbq.

No joke, this thing (if it's what I think it is) started my fear of injections. They repeatedly tried to jam one into my arm that just wouldn't work. It was either a button or a twisting or something. I remember everyone laughing at the state of me when I got back to my classroom.

All tailored to the moped brigade now. When I used to work there way back they would have mystery shoppers in, and you'd get an ear full if things weren't perfect. Last time I went my order took 16 mins, won't bother again.

DependentAd2274@reddit

Number one rule for me is getting up early, getting to the gym, walking the dog. This means I've got a lot of the non-negotiables out the way. I make sure I'm showered and dressed for walk. Personally I can't stand any of that 'slobbing around in your dressing gown' stuff, but each to their own. I make sure I only have healthy snacks in the house so I can't eat myself half to death.

Posted by leonxsnow@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 60 comments

DependentAd2274@reddit

I wake up at 4:30am, for gym and dog walking. Helps to get things done when mum & baby are asleep, then I can take over for a bit before work. I feel like shit a lot of the time, but towards midday I feel better, and I sleep at about 10pm like a log.

Remember the positives. It’s hard work, but also the best thing ever. A lot of stuff leading up to the birth is doom and gloom, make sure this doesn’t happen, make sure that doesn’t happen. Most of it VERY unlikely.

Ahh nice. I guess when you pay it will generally come with a higher quality or at least less fluff. I remember subscribing to the Atlantic some time back for sports stuff and they had some incredible articles on there.

What are some easy and cheap ways to spring some life into a bland new-build garden, that doesn't get much sun?

Posted by NotTreeFiddy@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 8 comments

DependentAd2274@reddit

I'd say off the bat get some trellis or string, and grow some clematis or similar climbers up some of the fence. Could put them in pots if needed. [These are fantastic.](https://www.gardeningexpress.co.uk/clematis-taiga-stunning-brand-new-exclusive-hardy-climbing-tiger-clematis-florida-taiga?ff=9&fp=16299&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwxeyxBhC7ARIsAC7dS3-_fTzr01-KmLgedjwFToGZOkN99jbrdnj2dex8GOHHY1zxGL_CYy0aAkjKEALw_wcB) Does the shed on the bottom left life up from the top? I can't tell. If not, I'd stick something on there, maybe some troughs with strawberry plants in? A few pots with some shrubs in around the corner of the paving wouldnt hurt.

Can you finish a whole trifle?

What's your view on single sex clubs/organisations?

DependentAd2274@reddit

I don't really mind. Not so sure about the private members clubs, it's something I couldn't care less about. Women only gym spaces I'm a fan of, because it means there's less people in my gym space. It's just a shame they don't make some of it men only as well.

How’s good is your concentration and focus since getting a smart phone?

DependentAd2274@reddit

I think it's a mixture of everything. Back when smartphones started hitting the mainstream (2009/10?), I could still put the thing down and be productive. Now I find it's a combination of things that cause the problem. For me, with everything at my fingertips (every book/audiobook, film, series, song), I often end up doing nothing at all, or small snippets of each. Removing the physical boundaries of these techs means I often can't decide on what to do, and change my mind often.

The deodorant one is fair enough, but for every 1000 people that try this shit, 999 will fail. It's just a numbers game. People will fall for this online brand/wellness/holistic/fugazi stuff. Look at what the popular podcasters fling. The couse one is basically MLM, and podcasters also do similar. Get an audience, convinced them to buy bullshit, take your slice of the pie on the way out.

How would you meet the people moving in and tell them? If you're selling it, it's the perfect way to not get an offer. If someone's viewing it (to rent) and you're in the flat, ready to tell them about the criminal upstairs, the agency are probably going to go nuts.

I think I ready something about it being the packing in nitrogen, then that converts to ammonia and gives off a smell. I was worried that my chicken was going off when I researched it, but this is going back some years.
