Peanut butter on a spoon

It’s actually pretty dangerous though to give young kids large amounts of just PB. It’s a pretty bad choking hazard because of the texture. If it clogs your throat you can’t get it out. You can’t Heimlich maneuver it out. You can’t get it out with fingers. It’s just sticky and clumpy and little throats can easily get clogged with a big blob of peanut butter. So just make sure kids don’t take giant globs of it without anything else for it to stick to.

My boomer parents told me I'd regret not getting one. I, in fact, never regretted not getting one.

Watching Growing Pains last night and thought the name Ashley Johnson sounded familiar! I never realized this connection until now!

Just an FYI…I just went to Disney+ and it’s not called Newsies?! The title is The News Boys. Are we having a Mandela moment or did they change it?!?! https://preview.redd.it/scwc261mkvhg1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7d46626c673ce5b25d42c26a5ac5cb786353bdd0

I remember BEGGING my mom to let me stay up to watch the one hour special cause my bed time was 8pm and they were airing the special at 9pm and my mother was absolutely not hearing it. It was a weekend but she still wouldn’t agree. I’m 41 now and still remember that lol.

This movie fascinated me

I just reminded myself of this absolute banger! We didn’t have a lot of money, but luckily my mom prioritized entertainment, so we had cable anyway!

Someone in another sub mentioned Sally Jessie Raphael and it brought up a whole topic I haven’t thought of in a long time. Which trashy daytime show did you watch after the Price is Right on sick days?

Who had a water bed? I did!

Dude I LOVED my waterbed. My mom had one when I was a kid and she ended up buying me my own cause I’d always sneak into her room at night to crawl into her bed cause I loved how warm it was. So to keep me in my own room she got me one. I was so content in that thing. Honestly I still miss it.

Dude my 7 year old pulled his legs into his pants recently and started dragging himself across the floor saying “I have no legs.” I nearly lost it laughing because he had NO idea why it was so funny to me.

As kids, we weren't allowed to answer the phone with just "Hello"

My mom made me say, “Hello, this is ______ speaking.” That way they would know if they had to ask for her before starting to talk to me. We had similar voice profiles so I guess she didn’t want her friends assuming I was her and say something embarrassing or something lol.
