Historical sources. If you read the sources of that time you will see how foreign travelers described them. I guess you simply need to do more reading to be able to draw proper conclusions.

Take a look at literally any source from the 18th and 19h century. The main issue of the Montenegrin society was the lack of arable land and grave conditions in which people were living, i.e. not having what to eat (we are talking about the period prior to them getting Boka Kotorska and some other cities, which happened later).

This could have been a good explanation if the Montenegrins were not descendants of the people living in the poorest areas with the least arable land, yet being tallest since centuries ago.

Albania has experienced a sharp decline in tourism in 2025, with 30% less tourists visiting the country this summer compared to summer 2024. Are Croatia, Montenegro & Bulgaria experiencing a similar decline in tourists or is the industry still going strong there?

In my experience, Halkidiki is always more expensive than islands such as Thasos, Skopelos, Kefalonia, etc. Just go to places where Greek people go and prices will be ok. This year I went to Pelion and had a blast, prices were reasonable.

September 6 we take to the streets! All across Greece!

My boyfriend moved back to Serbia from the US when he was 24. He is 34 now and is really happy in Serbia. Even more so now that he sees how the situation developed back there in the US.

Do you find this image Urban Hell? r/urbanhell is kind of delusional at this point but anyways. IMO the buildings might need a bit of paint but there is nothing hell about it, it looks like a nice neighborhood.
