This is best for her & for you as well, as you say, for many practical and also companionship reasons. I bet your mom is thrilled! You can take out the trash, and reach high shelves, and bring things down from upstairs, etc. if I were you, I would make the whole upstairs more to your liking. Start getting rid of stuff you and your mom didn’t need. Don’t just camp out in all of her old stuff. Open all the upstairs windows and burn sage or Palo Santo, to clear all the stagnant vibes. Check in with a lawyer as others say here to create either a trust or put your name on the house title. Put your name also on her checking and savings and other accounts, sometime soon. If she passes, you be able to still have access to those accounts and won’t have to spend months/years sending paperwork to prove she’s your mom. Also, have some good talks with her, enjoy this time.

What is something you do today, that is a throwback to childhood, but makes no sense as a full ass grown adult?

It’s nice to hear you talk to them, remember, to listen as well. I had one dog just chat up a storm with me, as his owner was not listening to him. I told his owner some of it, but it wasn’t too flattering to the owner so I kept it brief. The owner worried too much about the dog, and the dog found it annoying.

I talk to my plants, some animals, insects (mostly just tell the to leave or I’ll kill them if inside mi casa), dragons (I have a few), gnomes, fairies and some angels. I’ve talked to other magical creatures occasionally, but, these are the stalwarts.

How old were you when you purchased your first home (if you did).

Cry, get a therapist, and join a support group. It’s super hard to be a care giver for alz. It’s harder for early onset, and it harder for a spouse than other family member. You have lost your teammate. I took care of my mom, and helped with my mother in law as well (at the same time) and was raising young middle school and high schoolers, which makes it harder too, as your squished like a sandwich with your kids and the person with Alz. Personally, I lost it, but also did it the best I could. Both have passed away, it was a super hard, crazy time looking back. I’m glad I had the support group and I’m glad I took the care-giving class offered by my local Alz group, called Savvy Care-giver.

What job did you have at some point that is now obsolete?

Sofas in the kitchen?

I have never seen an over stuffed sofa in the kitchen as well, until I started watching this show. I was also wondering about this choice. Like why an ugly sofa in the kitchen? Thank you, for asking this question. I’m not so sure there is a valid answer, except that perhaps the British want one if they have the space? In the U.S. it’s not a preferred choice and looks rather odd to us.
