Women, how do you feel about men staring at you in public?

Seriously Replies Only so want to be clear I’m genuinely asking. How did you know for sure that she was messaging someone on her phone and that this was the context of the message? Were you staring yourself?

I think most people would be pretty pissed when they find out about profit margins for bought in goods. My last job we would buy something wholesale, double the price and sell it to the customer. We manufactured too, but this stuff didn’t even touch the sides of the workshop. Straight into the warehouse and back out again.

My bad, from other comments and thought this is what we were talking about. I don’t see why they’d release something claiming to be an “original” recipe when 1901 did exactly that years ago.

I’m not denying he was also heir to be (and now is) our monarch, but the comment I replied to is also factually correct, although slightly misleading, in specify English throne and omitting the rest of the UK. It’s not _not_ the English throne, it’s just that being crowned on it with oor big rock underneath makes him the king of us as well. Light-hearted passing comment on an anonymous internet post, nothing deeper!

Once had two clients at the same time called Hiscock and Ramsbottom respectively. Unfortunately their orders were far enough apart that their names never appeared right next to each other on any *official* documents, but both gave us a good giggle in the office.

I got my diagnosis in my last year of university after 18 years of education. I got medicated and it helped somewhat, but I always said I’m glad I didn’t get the diagnosis sooner because I know I would have settled into it and just used it as an excuse. Then a few months ago I had my medication changed and holy shit, if I’d been medicated properly from a young age I wouldn’t have struggled nearly as much in school as I did. I appreciate from your experience you’re content with the path you’ve been on, but don’t discredit those who know how much the right help would have benefitted them in their childhood.

I think I’m the odd one out here but a lot of the girls I dated as a teenager were smokers so I’ve got some weird Pavlovian appreciation of it. Not necessarily on clothes but kissing a smoker not long after they’ve had a cigarette is something I find weirdly attractive?

On the scale of loo roll to tooth brush, what are you uncomfortable sharing with someone?

To be fair I’ve had more than one ex who I’ e shared toothbrushes with in a pinch. Not as a long term solution, but if we’re away for a night and one of us forgot then it’s no biggy with a romantic partner. You exchange a bit of the the insides of your mouths as a pastime anyway, if that bridge has been crossed you might as well get some dental hygiene out of it.

What do you miss about lockdown?

Posted by Penster78@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 2354 comments

you-want-nodal@reddit

I long for the sheer lack of responsibility. I despise the 9-5 life since (as I discovered during lockdown) my “natural” sleeping schedule is falling asleep around 9am and waking up at 5pm. I just let this happen during lockdown and didn’t try to fight it and have honestly never felt more well rested in my life. I wasn’t getting any *more* sleep, I was just getting it when my body wanted to. There’s nothing more cathartic than going late night/early morning walks and feeling like you’re the only person in the world. And I could go to the shops when they opened at 6am! Now that’s all over and I’m back to forcing myself to fall asleep when I’m not tired and wake up when I am. Life’s exhausting.

We are a family of three planning to move to Scotland, what are the pros and cons of living in Scotland as compared to England?

Glasgow isn’t split into “really nice parts” and then the rest is a shitehole that should be avoided. I don’t live in a posh bit of the city, some one bed flats sell for 5 figures on my street. But I’ve got a grand community and a supermarket/gym/pub/train station a stones throw away. And there’s plenty of detached houses with gardens in the cul-de-sacs just round the corner. Like any city, areas vary in price but that doesn’t mean to say that if you’re not splurging a cool half mil on a west end penthouse then it’s not a city worth living in. Grow up.

Anywhere but London really. I think Brits have a reputation for not really being conversational with strangers, but that’s only half true. We don’t tend to start conversations but are more than happy to engage in friendly chit chat or give you directions or local advice whenever it’s needed.
