I should imagine so. I have a friend who working for the black cab trade association, the LTDA. He says that black cabs are a dying trade. The Knowledge isn’t as valuable now there’s a plethora of mapping apps.

In the 2001 census 0.8% (390,427) of the population identified their religion as Jedi. So there are more Jedi than Transgender people in the UK. Unfortunately that census doesn’t show how many Jedi are also transgender, as they weren’t looking for that statistic in 2001.

How cold does it get in Scotland? Compared to Canada?

Posted by Last_Ambition9828@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 81 comments

twiglet21@reddit

The U.K. is at the crossroads of four climate zones - temperate maritime, temperate continental, polar maritime and polar continental. This means it’s weather is constantly changing. While it can get cold in Scotland - snow, blizzards, ice, etc, it is never for very long (maximum a few weeks) because the weather will change. You don’t get the kind of cold you’d get in continental Canada in the winter.

Yes, I used to visit a Mr Byrd in Kingston on Thames who restored Stradivarius and other similar vintage instruments. I was looking at one once in his workshop, he told me to be careful because of what it was and it’s value.

I had a flight on a Concorde in 1988 and it was cramped and the windows tiny, but the seat were very comfy. The food was pretty good too, I recall only champagne for drinks. And the kick/ thrill you get when they switch on the afterburners on take-off was something to remember.
