It was a major structural failure of large metal piece. Almost every structural piece on an airplane is critical and any structural failure is quite likely to result in serious accident. Not that surprising IMO.

I bought an EV as my second car instead. At least I can have some fun in the with it in the City. The crazy acceleration and instant response of EV's does fill some of that performance car itch. I suspect thats another market thats cannibalizing sports car sales.

For me, it’s also because traffic has gotten so bad, I can even use a sports car. I loved my E39 M5 but I was never able to stretch its legs unless I did a dedicated multi-hour trip just to drive better roads.

Sure, but the iX3 has the next generation of assistance system, which will presumably work better and in more situations. Time will tell how it actually does.

Im glad I ended up with a Model 3 RWD instead of a Bolt. Had an order with a Chevy dealer for 6+ months and they never even started building my order. Once the Model 3 got the full 7.5k subsidy, I jumped ship and I’m glad I did. Too bad the new Model 3 doesn’t qualify for any subsidy now.
