That would likely fall under the category of dealing ivory as provided for by the Ivory Act 2018. This is prohibited without a relevant exemption.

Agree - does constantly feel like it needs wiping down - but that better than a gas hob when suddenly you look at it and it has a weeks worth of grime on it.

Got one. It's great - heats everything up quickly (and to the right temp), better control, easier to clean, safer and more space, doesn't pollute the house like gas does (afaik). It takes a little while to get used to, but I wouldn't go back.

Why don't subcultures exist anymore?

I don't really know what happened, and I can't speculate, but I do know from experience that people often don't recognise what is happening to them in certain circumstances - which leads to them not seeking help.

Has anyone watched the Hulu Caroline Flack doc?

rumoff@reddit

I think that's the wrong assumption - I don't think by any means being that by being "40 years old with the means, time and money" a person can "get whatever help was needed" is true. If someone is in a manic state or going through a mental health episode they may not necessarily know it.

Buy the best you can afford and take care of them (descale, clean etc.). You can always agree to sell them onto the person who buys your house, or if they don't want them flog them or take them to your next property.

Consider it the price of not having to find a new phone, wallet etc. A few years ago, left my wallet in back of a cab, paid in cash and obviously it fell out. Wallet arrived a day later to the address on my driving licence minus the £40 quid that was in there. Yeh, I'd cancelled my cards but hadn't begun process of driving licence etc. Was very happy to be down 40 quid in that instance.

Will either of these styles pay off?

Yes, there is a 'queue' in so far as there is an order in which the patrons will be served by the bar staff - but not a queue in the general sense.

Alcohol and prescribed medications aside, have you NEVER taken any drugs?

Appreciate that answer a lot. In my experience, the people I have known to take anabolic steroids have run into issues - some minor and some major causing problems for them and their families. I was surprised you have taken a risk on steroid use, but psychoactive stuff scares you - you sound like you know what you're doing but surely the potential psychological impact of steroid use must concern you? I am no saint when it comes to things like this - I have dabbled in psychoactives since my late teens (18 onwards) and am no in my mid-30s - I have never seen the harm in something that usually wears off in a matter of hours (although I fully accept that long term and regular misuse and exposure can bring its serious issues). I guess I have the opposite view - anabolic steroids, and the idea of injecting drugs, scares the crap out of me.

Wait - were you using anabolic steroids without prescription? Not saying psychoactive stuff is necessarily good, but steroid misuse is loopy imho. From the NHS website: # Physical effects Effects of anabolic steroids in men can include: * reduced sperm count * [infertility](https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/infertility/) * shrunken testicles * [erectile dysfunction](https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/erection-problems-erectile-dysfunction/) * [hair loss](https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/hair-loss/) * breast development * increased risk of [prostate cancer](https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/prostate-cancer/) * severe [acne](https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/acne/) * stomach pain In women, anabolic steroids can cause: * facial hair growth and body hair * loss of breasts * swelling of the clitoris * a deepened voice * an increased sex drive * problems with [periods](https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/periods/) * [hair loss](https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/hair-loss/) * severe [acne](https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/acne/) In addition, both men and women who take anabolic steroids can develop any of the following medical conditions: * [heart attack](https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/heart-attack/) or [stroke](https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/stroke/) * liver or kidney problems or failure * high blood pressure (hypertension) * [blood clots](https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/blood-clots/) * fluid retention * [high cholesterol](https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/high-cholesterol/) # Psychological effects Misusing anabolic steroids can also cause the following psychological or emotional effects: * aggressive behaviour * mood swings * paranoia * manic behaviour * [hallucinations](https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/hallucinations/) and delusions

I completely understand - and I think you've hit nail on the head with trusting valuations - all the stories about cowboys etc. Maybe because it is Currys it may be more expensive (presuming they're supplying the telly) that they'll be able to make good any damage to the telly if there are issues with installation?

I mean you could 1) purchase and mount yourself - which would mean buying a mount (anywhere between 25 and 100 quid), fixtures - screws, rawl plugs etc (5-10 quid), tools - drill, bits, level etc. (upwards of 75 quid), then your own time say an hour (depends on how much you value your time) and you could fuck it up (you could drill into a pipe behind the wall) or 2) pay someone 200 quid who will have all the tools, expertise, insurance and probably take a lot less than an hour to fit. No of course, you could buy all the bits you'll need and you'll also have them for future use PLUS you will have done it yourself which is a great thing - it's why DIY is so popular (a it gets cheaper the more you do and accumulate, and you get a sense of achievement even with little things) - also i put up a mount the other day and it took me 15 minutes (I also had the right tools). So while £200 might seem a little steep - think about what it might cost you if you do it yourself? Anyway - don't want to sound preachy, but I have a gripe with people sometimes not considering the value of the service they are receiving (I'm a lawyer and I see colleagues undersell our value all the time).

I think a familiar theme in this thread will be bullying - or more precisely, going along with bullies. I don't think we realise as kids what an impact it has. I was bullied, but also went along with bullies just to avoid flack. It is something that still makes me wince - it was never physical altercations, just name calling etc. I still carry loads of shame today, and I despise bullies. If it is something that I hope I can teach my kids, it is to never bully or fall in behind the bullies (which is, in reality, just as bad).

It's such an all present concept, but something no one ever bothers to explain. The best way I found of thinking about it, and these are not my words - 'arrow of time' - basically, something that can only move in one way. It can also move at different speeds but that requires a lot more explanation. If you are that way inclined, try Carlo Ravelli's 'The Order of Time' - quite short, popular science.
