What's the best alternative to Reddit? I'm getting tired of the bots and harassment army that comes in when you post something that goes against their agenda.

I think 3 times before posting anything on Reddit just to stay safe. Is this normal now or is it just me?

I find reddit not so bad. Yeah I've been banned from some subs for being blunt but it doesn't bother me. Like I was banned from r/litecoin for pointing out its price had gone down which it had. I don't want to be in subs where reality doesn't feature unless it's a sci-fi sub or something. Now YouTube is a different story. I'm censored and shadowbanned there constantly, which I monitor by having multiple accounts and cross checking the visibility of comments. The only way I can get comments to stay up is by using an account that cannot be linked to any others and by connecting through tor to obfuscate my static IP.

More states are requiring operating systems to ask for age via ID, such as Windows, Mac, Linux, etc. How do us hackers fight back?

What are your thoughts on Reddit alternative called Blackceldom?

Is whites acceptable? I mean during my lifetime they've been called negros, coloureds, blacks, "people with melanin", black people, African Americans (but only in America), "the windrush generation" (specific UK subgroup, people of colour, etc etc etc. What exactly is the problem with blacks? Whites is used in some places, and for that matter, different countries use different words. Why do you have this fixation and resupposition exactly?

When I clicked on the thread I was hoping to see some words. Like what the site is, who created it, why it's better, etc. Instead I see It's a clickbait "with this one cool trick" post where you're probably looking to boost the search ranking of your pet project. At that point I'm completely out.

I run a UK based politics Lemmy instance that I have written a bot to populate with news stories from UK media. Occasionally I put comments on the stories just to make myself feel better lol. But of course, I haven't tried to promote the site (mostly it was a hobby project) so there aren other users.

This sort of thing makes me want to phone them and report a nonexistent breakdown of a nonexistent vehicle just to watch them mess about getting nowhere. I wouldn't, of course, but it mafe me feel better to daydream the idea.

I live in a quiet Derbyshire market town. Except at this time of the year when all I can hear from dawn til dusk is motorbike exhausts. They all think they're the only noisy one and that they're treating us to the sound.

Neighbours keeps their bins under my window. Advice on how to go about it?

That's not really important what I personally think. The important bit is understanding objectively why it's currently ~~fucked~~ unsatisfactory.

The only responsibility that a company has is to its shareholders. That's literally the legal definition. If people are stupid enough to setup a system that can only privatise profit and socialise losses, don't be surprised when it does just that.  One answer is to nationalise it and make it extremely inefficient and expensive to run, but centrally plan it. The other option is to properly privatise it and see what happens. The status quo is enshitified precisely because of the current dog's dinner.
