had my own version once, there was a major Comcast cut at their primary DC and a user in the Midwest couldn't get email. I switched his client from the VA DC to the Midwest one and boom email. The DCs could see each other and were syncing without a problem but somehow he couldn't route to VA with the fiber cuts and we didn't have a round robin or global url for Exchange

they won't there are only so many production lines of LCDs and companies that make them (LG, AUO, BOE, etc...) and the 24s and 27s just do better than the 25s so little reason to keep pumping them out. seems these are the only two still out there and most likely just being made till stock runs out https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B45998BM https://www.newegg.com/benq-pd2506q-25/p/N82E16824014937

needed to restart a frozen hvac, didn't realize the breaker box was for the whole server room not the break out for the HVAC, which ended being located outside the room I believe my boss was based half way across the country, boss's boss was onsite. BB understood what happened, understood I was under stress with the HVAC tech on site and had been fighting the system for a long time (months/year+) and that we didn't actually have labeling and the battery system wasn't working right overall it was a learning experience, the phones came back on quickly, the other office caught some of the slack, and the system was better documented moving forward

Assuming the dealership is only one or two locations they Kaseya doesn't really make sense There bread and butter is MSPs who often manage 10~100+ locations and need the pane of glass model they offer For what you are looking at intune/azure could cover most of it and is a better product (assuming windows shop)

Maybe try explaining it via a different example: If you own an independent auto repair shop but get contracted to repair recalled vehicles (I know this isn't how it works but stay with me) It is the manufactures and Gov driving the recall notices If you got 3 recall notices last month and 4 this month the number of recall notices went up but if you repaired all the assigned vehicles for first 3 recalls you did your part of the job Patching and remediation isn't a race, there is no finish line, so really it is more of a death march

FYI: Dell has released BIOS update for Intel self-destructing CPUs

Posted by hard_cidr@reddit | sysadmin | View on Reddit | 123 comments

mzuke@reddit

the issue is people expect CPUs to last for 5~7 years in many cases The 13th and 14th that have failed were often in high uptime high usage scenarios, you would have to adjust for failure rate over the same time frame The highest rates of failure, as I understand, have been seen in server farms that use consumer grade cpus for game servers. Their reasoning is that many of the gaming servers don't container or virtualize well so better to have cheaper metal so you can just reboot with less blast radius
