Gen Z is Not Drinking, But Are You?

Nope - not a drop. Stopped drinking almost 7 years ago and have never felt better! My husband also stopped and says it’s one of the best things he’s ever done.

I quit smoking and then drinking and then lost 60+ pounds focusing on protein intake & pilates & strength training. They can pry coffee and diet coke out of my cold dead fingers.

Gen X. What are the one or two odd things that you have realized you kept on your side table in the bedroom, just in case. No pervy stuff please. We're all adults.

No one wanted them then. No one is buying them now. Taste has evolved. Production continues regardless.

Did this movie impact you during your childhood as much as it did me?

Obsessed with this movie ever since the first time I saw it. My sister and I watched it in the middle of the night when my parents had to rush off because my grandma passed away. I was maybe 9 or 10 & dint really remember anything else from around that time but this movie.

Am I the only one who can't function on Saturdays?

Posted by no_no_nora@reddit | GenX | View on Reddit | 226 comments

itsdickers@reddit

I had amazing plans for the weekend and Saturday I woke up, walked the dogs, went to Pilates, and then was like “yep that’s enough things” & spent the rest of the day at home on the couch rewatching Jersey Shore and surfing the internet. No regrets. You have to give yourself permission to just fuck off and recharge.

It’s the parents & what they expose them to - my friend’s 8 years old’s favorite movie is Jaws. She also loves the Parent Trap, Meet me in St Louis, and the original Wizard of Oz. She even knows who Shirley Temple is!

Question: Do you shower after bathing?

Posted by Lonely_Storage2762@reddit | GenX | View on Reddit | 905 comments

itsdickers@reddit

Maybe bc I use it to soak I guess? I don’t use it to get clean (I shower daily), but more to relax or soothe sore muscles. I use Epsom Salts and essential oils, sometimes like a bath oil, but never soapy bubbles.

ULPT request: How do I temporarily disable my oven so my roommate can't use it during a heat wave and heat up our apartment to a million degrees?

itsdickers@reddit

That’s so weird - when I accidentally turned it on in mine, I couldn’t do anything on the oven until I figured out how to turn the setting off. Maybe because it was off when I set it?

Nope! We had a pool in the backyard and I was out there all the time just skin in the sun. My mom had that Nain de Soliel orange gel id use sometimes solely for the smell. It was only an spf 3 or 8. That’s said, my skin didn’t burn ever that I can remember

Oh that’s interesting - I had no idea! Yours definitely sounds more difficult than mine. I didn’t have any bruising or residual pain. I wonder if it is lump dependent or has something to do with how they do them at the hospital.

Lol yes exactly like that - I never thought about it that way but that made me laugh! I had a really kind nurse that walked me through everything first and then she stayed above board with me and chatted while the doctor did her thing.

It doesn’t hurt and it’s not scary - so don’t worry about that! It’s just weird bc you lie face down and your boob goes through a hole in the table and the doctor is under there too. It’s just so weird!! They also place a small piece of titanium in there so they can tell where they took a sample so they know for the future. You will be OK and I hope you get negative results too.

I was just popping in McDonalds in the train station to get an egg McMuffin on my way to work & saw 9/11 happening on the TV in the corner. Everyone was just standing there stunned in a McDonalds in Chicago during Rush Hour. I will never forget it.

How many of you actually ordered any of those prank / novelty items sold out of the backs of comic books when we were growing up?

I loved those!! I used to see them in the back of my Archie Comics all the time. What a good memory 💖 Definitely sea monkeys, joy buzzer, and jumping beans. Oh! And the gum that had like a mouse trap snap when you tried to take a piece hahaha
