5070ti vs 9070xt for 1440p

Posted by HighKingOdin@reddit | buildapc | View on Reddit | 98 comments

UntoTheBreach95@reddit

I don't feel the difference from 60 to 144 as big as 30 to 60. A steady frame time, a dead silent PC below 60 degrees in hotspot, and high/ultra quality on my 32 inch monitor is enough for me

5070ti vs 9070xt for 1440p

It's actually a 75 hz monitor but my old card struggled to reach that in some games, so to run colder and steadier i put a 60 hz mode with CRU. I don't really mind because it looks pretty, IMO if it's not OLED the upgrade is not worth it.

Recently Hardware Unboxed made a comparison where the 9070 XT outperforms the 5070Ti. I bought a 9070 XT and with my 1440p 60 hz display... it usually uses a third of the graphics card power with everything on ultra

Idk if they are bought but some of their biases like the excessive use of the upscaler crutches and being ok with the blurriness of new games, well those are very obvious

Is 1440p becoming the new standard resolution?

Idk, I still feel the difference between 60 and 120 is minimal. I get used to 60 fps with ease even after using my laptop with 120 hz display for days and then returning to my desktop monitor. 60 to 120 feels not as big of a difference as 40 to 60 or 50 to 60. What I think is really important is framepacing. Uneven framepace feels jankier compared to lower fps with an even frame pace

May be the OS. Windows GUI feel faster. Apple want to make it pretty with loads of animations. Obviously a 300 dolar windows pc will feel less responsible than a 1500 apple device but that's not the case with similar spec hardware

40 miles per week is a lot. But I run a mean of 3 miles per day with the same Nike refurbished shoes I bought three years ago and they are still standing. And I run in pavement. I guess they last longer running in dirt. And no problem with my knees Not to mention that investing in your health is cheaper in the long run. A myocardial infraction is really expensive bro. Aside other benefits of having outdoor hobbies.

RN I'm on the Surface Laptop 7 and the X Plus is amazing. Qualcomm overhyped the X Elite/Plus chips but they are quite good ngl. Never had a laptop with such a long standing battery. And they are cheap compared to similar amd/intel options. And yeah bro, i heard you, they don't run games well

How interested are you in APUs and similar chips with serious gaming capabilities?

Series X could be tinier. It uses around 150w to 180 of power. The GPU has 52 CUs but micro decided to run them at a very low 1825 mHz so it's not a Heat producing machine. Also, the heat dissipation is overenginered, fan is always spinning very slow. The console cant be heard at 0.5 meters of distance. And the dissipation is amazing. Cold air enters from below and a fan in the top takes out hot air. I would love an ITX built like this. Just my Asus Challenger RX 6700 XT is way more noisier at 150w power draw.

I don't think that Apple is the best example for mobile graphic performance, their best GPU (The one with 72 CU) has the performance of a 4060. I doubt iPads have better graphical performance compared to Z1 Extreme APUs? I do agree in handhelds lacking GPU power. AMD should put more CUs in their APUs, 12 is not enough.
