Surely most of us would recoil in horror if we went to a country where they ate dog or cat. I feel sorry for the poor chap, it must've been awful for him.

Totally agree. Learning about these kinds of boundaries are crucial by this age, otherwise she's going to become really unpopular and lose friends if she thinks she can interrupt everyone and make it about her.

True. We get all the US sweets here in the UK - well, the ones that people eat! The chocolate is disgusting (fatty and cheap) and most US sweets are so sickly sweet we don't like them.

What is this ? Came in a nail clipper set.

Would you eat stew that had been put on the counter for 12h after cooking?

Posted by VadimH@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 333 comments

Tricky-Memory@reddit

In the UK we very often leave soup or stew out to 'work', and it always tastes better the next day. I've been going this for years, and so have all my friends. Maybe it's old fashioned, but it definitely tastes better and no one's died yet!! Americans will probably tell you it will kill you though😄

What is one thing we can still be incredibly proud of in the UK?

The ever-changing, unpredictable weather😁. Who wants a partner that says and does the same thing every day.... boooring! Nope, we prefer an unpredictable, intemperate nutter.... much more fun😬

If I get a Chinese takeaway I always drive round looking for someone to give the free prawn crackers to because I don't like them. I always find someone who'll taken em, but yeah, they're usually a bit suspicious at first😏

Yep... it's most likely a scam. I've been scammed by girls saying they were raped and needed money for a train home. First time I suspected it was a scam, but I just didn't want to take the chance that it wasn't. The second time I said no need to go by train, I'll take you. She made her excuses and disappeared! If only these SELFISH FCKERS thought about the fact that they are potentially endangering lives by doing this, because someone else may genuinely need help and not be believed. Makes my blood boil😑

At 20 years of age hardly anyone really knows what they're doing. Most of the ones that look like they do are just kidding themselves and everyone around them. There's nothing wrong with that, we all went through it. It's only when you get to your 30's that you realise just how little you knew about life. And then when you get to your 40's you feel the same about your 30's. And on and on till you die basically! If you feel lost and like you don't know what you're doing, that's really okay because you're being honest, and that means you still want to learn and grow, which is a wonderful thing. You've got your whole life ahead of you so the only thing you need to concentrate on is enjoying it🙂

Tricky-Memory@reddit

The only job that's made me think hard about someone was with a guy who wanted to date me. He was quite high up in the police force in the UK. As lovely, interesting, funny and attractive as he was I had to decline because I just don't believe you can be high up in the force and not ever have witnessed and/or overlooked other staff doing things that they should be sacked or locked up for. I'm sorry if that sounds judgemental, but I have lost all faith in the police force because they cover up so much.

Would you judge someone who's using an umbrella in the sun?

Posted by actual-homelander@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 208 comments

Tricky-Memory@reddit

YES, I would DEFINITELY judge someone using an umbrella in the sun. I'd think they were pretty damned intelligent! Skin cancer kills, so protecting your skin from the sun is going to make us Brits look pretty dumb. Even though we have terrible weather and not much sun we get lots of skin cancer here because we don't protect ourselves enough!

I'm a total whimp but Yup. I grabbed someone by the throat, dragged them cross a road and put them up against a wall and threatened to kill them. I don't regret it at all and Id do it again if I needed to. Police can come after me if they like, I don't give a damn. You try to kill my cat and I WILL respond.
