Came off a US flight in Manchester and for some reason my OH booked a place in Bolton to rest our heads....we lasted literally 2 hours and decided to risk the 4 hour drive. We had people literally stepping in front of the car and almost throwing themselves at it to cross the road. Then I had to fake an English accent to get something from a shop, the McDonalds we found was okay and we weren't so hangry because none of us had the plane food ...the place we stayed at gave me the boak the guys cleaner didn't do a great job there were joint ends and chewing gum egh. There were deals happening and cops were about ...honestly was waiting to see if Frank Gallagher was around. I grew up in a rough area as a kid but this was something else, I had to get out of dodge and go home. It was rough. It's been two years and my kids still talk about our adventures in Bolton lol. Maybe being tired and cranky after a 10 hour flight didn't help so who knows we may venture again one day. I love visiting England we do Yorkshire a lot and I've been all over. Bolton was certainly an experience.

I remember I was training at my call centre job and they told us about it, took us to the big screens in the break area. It was shocking. My dad was decorating my flat for me and that night we just sat and watched TV showing it, I cried for those people seeing them throw themselves out the buildings. It was horrible and a memory etched in my brain.

I've heard people do this in my past. it's usually that they live near another relative in another town or they go to Uni/College so the liar doesn't get to see them often. I grew up in the Highlands, so Glasgow, Edinburgh or Aberdeen was usually the place, or if they were really putting it on thick, they came from Ireland, England or Wales lol.

What missing person case in the UK makes you come back to try and find out more or makes you think the most?

The Renee MacRae case for me....it was an open secret who did it and he eventually got jailed but they never found her or her son's bodies. I feel the man's wife knew more than she let on too. Renee's family will never get the full closure, to lay her fully to rest. The Corrie McKeague story too, I find it hard to believe he slept in a bin but the story is probable. I just feel there's more to it but very sad either way. Also more recent case of Nicola Bulley, I feel there's more to it. I think it's under wraps because perhaps there's a serial killer linked or something like that but the whole investigation felt off.

It's basically a house coat to keep you warm. Across UK we have various names for it, I call it a Goonie or dressing gown and wear mine over my pjs usually in the morning as I get my tea and prep the kids bags etc.

From the Highlands, a woman and her kid disappeared and were never seen again. Speculation was it was her lover, the child was his too. He terrorised her best friend who happened to work with my mum. Police had my mum walk out with a decoy pretending to be the friend because he'd threatened her but they didn't get him. The best friend knew it was 💯 him. It was recently brought up to court a year or two back he got jailed and died but never admitted what he did to them.
