Some of my faves: Otoboke Beaver, Akaikurage, Melt-Banana, Bleach 03, the Stalin, and Midori (Mariko Goto's defunct jazz punk fusion band.) Other underground - but not punk - bands I love: Boris, Zazen Boys, and Afrirampo.

I did learn from my Depression era father to avoid going into debt, and to buy used cars instead of new ones due to how quickly they depreciate. But I did waste too much on unintentional spending. " This job is a drag. So I'll buy this junk (especially food and drinks) with the cash I made to feel better." Instead of just working for money, it's far better to get your money working for you. If I'd socked away 20% off my income all of these years, I could probably think about retiring or at least cutting to pay time hours by now. But as it is, I gotta keep toiling away for years to come. Skrimp and save when your young (or whenever you can start) and invest or buy property or something. I'd like to plug the book "The Bogleheads' Guide to Investing." It really opened my eyes. There's also r/Bogleheads.

Name something that used to be huge and is now forgotten in 70s, 80s or 90s nostalgia. A band, a TV show, a movie, a craze, a product, anything.
