What is a nice interaction you’ve had with strangers?

About a year ago I was out running and heading towards my local park when I suddenly saw a small dog running on the right hand side of the road towards me. I gestured to the dog to run to me so I could get it out of the road but it took one terrified glance at me and whizzed right past. As it did so a man in a work van pulled up beside me and asked if it was my dog. I replied that it wasn't but we both agreed we had to hunt it down and return it to its owner asap before it got hurt or caused an accident. Luckily the dog hadn't run too far and had turned into a quiet lane so we caught up to it pretty quickly. After about 20 mins of gentle encouragement (and feeding it some cheese provided by a boy who had joined us) we managed to get the dog to hop into the man's van whereupon he drove to the local park hoping to track down the owner. I jogged to the park and after meeting up with the man again said I'd look for the owner along the trails. After 5 mins of jogging, a distraught lady flagged me down and asked if I'd seen a lost dog. I recounted our little adventure and told her that the van man had taken the dog to a nearby vet. She burst out crying but was so thankful. It really was a great feeling teaming up with two complete strangers to help rescue this poor bewildered dog, and I'll never forget the look of gratitude on the owner's face.

What’s your kryptonite food item? The one you don’t even buy because if you do you will sit and eat a whole packet to yourself?

What are common phrases that Americans say that are strange to a Brit?

Recluse. I've only realised this recently but Americans pronounce it as "wreck-loose" instead of "r'cloose'. It's really jarring. Also some west coast Americans have started to pronounce 'and' as "eyand" it's really fucking weird. There was a van lifer I was following on YouTube who would say it all the time. She also had a dog called Camper which she was pronouncing as "keeyamper". Ugh.

Yesterday I bought the book Doppelganger by Naomi Klein and the cashier was just like my old friend Jim (similar in looks and mannerisms) who I hadn't seen in ages. I then walked out of the book shop and bumped into my friend Jim. When I remembered the title of the book I'd just bought I was a little spooked 😂.

I'll have to ask my parents - they may have done the same for me. Its fascinating to see how ingrained tea drinking is in our culture from such a young age!
