Thank you to the person who suggested The Inbetweeners. Any other shows I should watch?

I’ve seen some of Friday Night Dinner and IT Crowd. I also loved The shows with Stephen Merchant as a serial Killer as well as David Tennet (can’t remember the names)

Genuinely think it’s a the best comedy show ever

S1 blackadder is based, but weirdly have heard this opinion from someone else. It’s just as good as the rest
Matezza@reddit
I watched it after and didn't really like the switch in roles. It just didn't land them same.way the other series did
herwiththepurplehair@reddit
Skip series 1? Are you mad? It's by far my favourite, it's utterly unhinged and sets the scene for future ones. He wasn't the cunning one in the first series!
Matezza@reddit
I might be. It was never my favourite. Always much preferred the others.
herwiththepurplehair@reddit
I think I was at the optimal age where I found that sort of stuff hilarious; the other series are of course brilliant too but I think it was just the absolutely lunatic manner of the first series, I love it still 😁

Plus Brian Blessed and Peter Cook.

Father Ted.
Vivid_Analyst9102@reddit
Father Ted - somewhat under-rated but maybe it's the type or kind of humour? You just CANNOT beat it if it's your kind of thing (and you'll have to try it to see) - I'd say it's up your street and/or at least worth a serious try! Try a few episodes before deciding if you're unsure as the humour is wide ranging in 'style' and where one episode might 'miss' for you slightly, another may make you literally hurt from laughing too much! I also feel that the actors got better the more they worked together - timing, chemistry - and the characters develop too...

The main guy in it (not the two Inbetweeners) got cancelled, accused of rape and sexual assault by a few different girls. Never tried but the BBC put the second series on hold and then never came back to it.

Judge_Dreddful@reddit
I watched this the other night as I love a bit of juvenile, sweary comedy but it left me cold. I know that humour is subjective but I just didn't think it was that funny. Or even funny at all.

I had to scroll down way too far too see this. Phone Shop was criminally underrated. I'd say one of the funniest and most quoteable comedies of the last 25 years. The scene where Christopher pretends to be called Jerwayne is absolute stone cold comedy genius.

I’d 100% recommend ’The Thick Of It’ it’s a BBC satirical comedy which pokes fun at British politics, it’s got Peter capaldi in whose pretty well known from doctor who, it’s a bloody brilliant show - season 4 gets a bit naff but it’s definitely worth watching simply for the first 3 seasons alone.
Another id 100000% recommend is ‘I’m Alan Partridge’ or any Alan Partridge related spin off series really, Steve Coogan plays Alan and he does a stellar job everytime. The comedy is dry as hell but if you like that sorta thing (which I’m guessing you do as that’s 95% of british comedy) then you’ll absolutely fall in love with Alan.
