To answer some questions, I have 1 cast iron pan and 1 small propane camping stove. Grill is propane with mostly full tank and a back up ready to go. Thanks everyone who has answered so far.

The radiation itself wouldn't be much of a concern in Guatemala if the US had a few thousand nukes land on it. The several years without a grow season due to nuclear winter means we're pretty much certain to starve if full scale nuclear war breaks out. But if you are still worried about radiation you can pick up some potassium iodide tablets for fairly cheap. Those ever-so-slightly reduce the damage from radiation.

Too many people are sleeping on a Carrington Event. It wiped out almost all electronics when it happened. It just so happened to only be telegraph wires but if it happened again SWHTF. Nuclear war may be a little more likely but the sun destroying the grid is a real threat.
