Don't overthink it. Your time learning Python won't be wasted if you switch languages; you'll still be applying many of the same concepts.

I suck at math, don't have a tech background or STEM degree, and learned to code with online resources and now work as a software engineer. Expect it to take years rather than months to be employable, but it can definitely be done. I recommend The Odin Project following the JavaScript track.
