For me, seatback pockets are a nice spot to carry documents if I don't have my backpack on me. Also, since they seem like they're pretty cheap to install I don't exactly understand why they'd be removed beyond corporate greed. Also profit margins are around 10% for most cars. So I'd imagine Nissan probably makes at least 2k on each Versa sold.

In my parents neighbourhood, the lowest-spec F-150 you see is a King Ranch. Also, the one in the picture is also a 4x4. I still feel like trucks which are crew-cab and have the short bed should have standard 4WD

>Today even base fleet trucks get ordered with 4WD, because even if the fleet owner won't need it, they know a 2WD has almost no resale value. Yet another why it should just be standard on crew-cab short beds

Sure those are fine, but the only trucks that I see in my area are 65k+ crew cab short-bed toys and these are the ones I was referring to in my post. Nobody is using these for work.

GM does dumb things all the time, this is just one example. They spent billions developing the Omega platform just to use on one model, yet probably most people in this thread would interpret that and GM's overall mismanagement as a stroke of genius

lol at this stage I feel like half the people on the tread are GM employees/bots. There is essentially nothing for the consumer to lose, they only gain. The only thing that happens is the manufacturers lose a tiny bit of profit

Yeah, a lot of them tow boats and since boat ramps are usually slippery most people do get AWD/4WD on their luxury trucks and SUVs. Also, based on my own personal experiences. Once people start paying above 70k in cash for a car, they don't care about spending a little more pocket change on maintenance. I think if maintenance costs are a concern, you probably shouldn't be looking at a luxury SUV or pickup

I think 2wd is fine in other cars, but most Escalade (and similar vehicles) drivers don't care about payload. People don't buy luxury SUVs wondering how many goats they can carry in the back. In fact most people who buy crew-cab pickups don't care too much about payload since they use their cars mainly around town. Single-cab and extended-cab trucks are fine RWD

My line of thinking is this: As a concept, a personal vehicle isn't something masculine. They make people lazy and soft. They provide a means to avoid minimal physical exertion and foster a reliance on comfort and convenience. This makes the particular vehicle choice largely irrelevant. If I had to say which cars are most masculine, I'd say it would be cars associated with jobs requiring physical labour. Of course, this is just my own opinion

>but the car you drive will definitely impact how you’re perceived by the general public That's the thing, if a guy is so caught up in being perceived as masculine. Then how much masculinity did he really have 🤔

I'd imagine there will be some collectors who buy both. I think the GTD will be impressive even compared to high-end European cars, but 300k for a Mustang still sounds mind-blowing

lol I remember that review, though the point stands. Sometimes car people say things that make me cringe so hard it hurts. It's unbecoming for a respected 50-year-old man, presumably one with children, to equate masculinity with vehicle choice. Its I'd a 13-year-old would say. I'll say it once: **No cars are masculine**
