One potential reason could be if the hygienist will make more money doing private appointments than they do from NHS appointments that would remove any incentive to push them.

Well i presume teacher's need to know what the time is so they aren't late to classes etc. I'm not saying there's anyone to blame in this scenario, but simply saying there is a use case for wearing a watch. It's quicker to see the time compared to checking a phone (maybe they aren't allowed phones because of the camera).

I'm never sure what to do with my eyes when they wash my hair. I think i go with closed for a bit but then i don't want to look like i'm enjoying it too much so open for a bit. Open for the cut though obvs.

Yes it's very good. Speaking to friends who earn/have been on 6 figures, your way of living changes with how much you earn so you'll likely spend a lot more than you otherwise would making it seem like you're not earning a lot more.

At the time probably not that much. At that age i was optimistic that things in the future would only get better and better. Grass is always greener and all that. I mean my life is fine now but not exactly as i'd have pictured it going back then. I wouldn't say it's markedly improved now and looking back they were great times. Perhaps that is some rose tinted specs talking too....
