Laser red 1996 Mustang GT. Manual with 88k miles. ~$8000 OTD in late 2001. Never drove stick before so my dad had me practice in the parking lot while he did the paperwork since I still wasn’t 18.

Gas was as .98 a gallon in 2000 for me. Floats around $5 now but that much of a jump in 20yrs is insane.

Got a brand new 2002 Hyundai Accent with a manual and no options other then a radio. Cost $8k OTD. I tried as hard as I could to destroy that car and absolutely nothing. Didn’t change the oil for 10k+ miles, used to shift without the clutch, ripping the e brake around turns, full throttle clutch dumps and not a single thing broke on it for the 2 1/2 years I had it. Reliability aside try and find a new car for sale that you could get for (inflation adjusted) $13.8k.

APR advertises 73hp increase with just the stage1 tune on the MK8 GTI. Still significant but not the 117hp, that is done with 100 octane.

Get prescribed adderal. Super easy to do so and suppresses your appetite. Cheap too.

How does shifting work with a vehicle that has regular automatic shifter for 2wd and a second manual shifter for 4wd?

On the wrangler you can swap into 4wd without stopping. Just has to be under 15mph if I remember right.
