Do you Xennial guys n girls still care about shoe fashion at our age? (I’ve outgrown name branded clothes, and current fashion trends years ago, but I still gotta have clean Kicks!)👟

Did anyone else have this exact 1990 Mario Lenticular (Hologram) Wallet? (I got one for holding house-key and lunch money)

NeonRx@reddit

Yep my mom bought that for Christmas for me when I was like 7 or 8. I often think about that wallet. It’s stuck in my mind for some reason. Haven’t seen an actual picture of it since then. Thanks for unlocking a core memory.

Was this music video anyone else’s sexual awakening?

I mean look at the song Jessie’s Girl. With friends like that you don’t need enemies. For some reason being a home wrecker was celebrated.

I think soundscan after 1991 actually counted sales at the register. At least from what I remember. I haven’t worked at a record store in more than 20 years. But you might be right 🤷‍♂️

Winona Ryder by Steven Meisel for US Vogue, Wearing Chanel Couture, October 1999 [1080 x 1343]

Yea i thought she was great as Mina, I had read the book and thought she was pretty close to what was described so it was good casting. I think boomers just hated anything Gen X did and wanted to criticize it.

Man no one could hold a candle to Winona in her prime…… she’s still beautiful as hell and I still have a crush on her lol.

Yea 92 definitely I would have been down to watch some Full House and eat pizza. At 14 I was a hormonally crazed asshole lol.

Holy crap I never realized those movies all released so close together, no wonder our generation was so cynical. I know I was way more cynical about that working world at 17 than I was supposed to be, it’s why I didn’t keep my first job (bad attitude).

Meet the piece of sh*t "uncle" you thought was the coolest when you were 6.

I’m really torn up about this. The man was a personal hero to me. Last time I felt like this was when Steve Jobs died. I just hope he Rests in Peace and is with Rosalynn now.

That’s funny I just put that track on a playlist for the girl I’m dating… I usually don’t revisit the music from that period of my life partially cause I’m depressed my clubbing days are over unless I want to be the sad sack with a midlife crisis lol.

It’s my 41st birthday and I still dress like I’m in the 90’s

Shout out to every Xennial who struggled with mental health issues in the early 2000s amid *toxic* Boomer judgement. Britney deserved better.

Britney truly deserves the best things in life. She’s made so many of us happy as an entertainer through the years and she’s a good soul. And yes the mental health struggles have been hard but we as a generation have come really far.

RIP to our legendary first crush (but Paul Simon? Really?)

Married with Children Christmas Special 😀🎄

Posted by IceSmiley@reddit | Xennials | View on Reddit | 16 comments

I always get the sense that as a generation our being so forcefully taught that having kids would ruin our lives, and that anyone ever getting pregnant at any time was a disaster that needed to be avoided at all costs led to a lot us becoming phobic about having kids, and never having any.

Posted by ethan__l2@reddit | Xennials | View on Reddit | 721 comments

NeonRx@reddit

Or having kids in the wrong way, like I wouldn’t have my 10 year old daughter if we were planning it. Still think my mom would probably have an aneurysm were she alive. But yea I was always super conscious of making sure my child was brought into a ‘good world’ unfortunately I’ve given up on that naive notion.

You wake up and it’s the year 1992. What do you do?

I thought it was good. Obviously they can’t match the original broadcasts but it was a good bit of nostalgia. My only complaint was that the matches were very quick in match time and kinda predictable.

This is the dumbest shit I’ve read, it’s not like your using fn God mode or something, I can run that game backwards. I can take a screenshot of my NES World Championships run through it for proof. Now if you wanted to say I wasted my time playing video games during my youth, now that you might have a point on.

Shit list, but going by its rules solidly millennial. AC/DC post Bon Scott makes me cringe, and honestly I’d just rather not with dinosaur rock.

Justin Timberlake: Xennial or Millennial music?

NKOTB is more Xennial. I was already into heavy rock and going to concerts by the time any of that stuff came around, and I’m an 82 baby. I hated all the boy bands from the Backstreet Boys wave, but liked New Kids because I was like what 4 when their very first album came out and 8 by the time they released Step By Step.

Am I a grown man in my forties with a wife and family? Yes.
