Which UK businesses are struggling because of the RAM shortage?

Could you not just have the process take longer but get the same accuracy. For most software applications RAM just allows you to do more at once. You can still achieve the same end result with less it just takes longer.

Why Are Software Engineers (Not) Engineers?

Posted by BinaryIgor@reddit | programming | View on Reddit | 55 comments

MyStackOverflowed@reddit

For me the line is drawn if someone can die or get hurt if you get it wrong. A software engineer working on Facebook, no. One working on the software for a plane, yes.

I got to use Princess Grace once as they have some sort of agreement with my workplace. Felt ill at work and got told to go there, showed my work pass and was immediately x-rayed, CT scanned, blood sample taken. I'm talking within 15 minutes of arrival. Sat outside for another 10 in a very nice waiting room got chatting to someone who was struggling with a form, helped them fill it out (turned out they were a Saudi royal) Saw a consultant who told me exactly what was wrong and gave me the right medicine and sent me on my way. Was out in under an hour with my mind well blown.
