It's a defining moment in my life where everybody in my immediate proximity abandoned me in favour of their own neurotic bullshit. I was 14 and still get ill every year around the time they split. Ended up being diagnosed with ptsd and bipolar disorder

It works if you use it for yourself, that's your prerogative. Everybody needs a means to feel better about their situation. It's different when you use it for others though, when you're not disabled. It's not really "your" terminology to use, such as any number of reclaimed offensive terms.

We had some guy follow us all the way home, blaring his horn and flashing his lights. It was sketchy as fuck, so we drove around some housing estate until we lost him.

Bad crowd control can be terrifying and very dangerous, see also: the station nightclub fire. Since I saw that the first thing I look for in a venue is how and where to get out as fast as possible.

This isn't the US where you can sectioned for sneezing incorrectly. Psychiatrists might be an *interesting* breed but bad apples aside their job is to help you, same with psychologists, therapists, and psychiatric nurses. The only way to get proper help is to be 100% honest.

How to handle a gang of feral 15-16 year olds?

Invisible96@reddit

there's a lot of insane, dangerous, bullshit advice in these comments. document everything, go to the police as many times as necessary, get an antisocial behaviour order put on them. you can also take it to court if you have a decent amount of proof of what they are doing. OP, if you are going anywhere near these people keep your camera on (discreetly - being blatant about it will attract more hassle), and also do your best to avoid them so it doesn't look like you are looking for trouble. given how a bottle was thrown at you, the police should absolutely be involved. I recently got a community order put in place for this group of chavs who give me a lot of shit. next time they come anywhere near me they are being taken to court, where a judge will likely put something more substantial in place. so it's not impossible to have it sorted out without resorting to the same shithead behaviour that you are currently being subjected to.

hitting someone in the throat can kill them, I don't think that will fly as self defense compared to a hit to the face. if nothing else a big ol' kick in the bollocks should help though.

What was your worst school trip?

Invisible96@reddit

I went on a trip to an outward bound center to do things like high ropes, caving, ziplining, and so on. Everything went fine until tuesday when an outbreak of norovirus happened, sending around 80-90% of the kids home barfing their guts out. It was truly a wonderful week as a severe emetophobe as you can imagine! My teachers wouldn't let me have my phone to talk to my mum because, in their words, "she would only come and pick you up and it would make us look bad". So I was stuck in a dorm full of voniting and shitting teenagers for 5 days.

Invisible96@reddit

Conversely, I was always pressured into hitting people (never did, I was abhorred by the idea) and my dad even said "you have my permission to hit them". All that did was reinforce my helplessness by making me realize that since I couldn't find it within myself to hit someone I would never *not* be subjected to this behaviour. As a result I dissociate completely and resign to what's happening rather than feeling empowered enough to stand my ground.
