They do, but a much lower rate. I'd say it's more socialisation than a hormone thing. Men are "expected" to be a little violent, so young boys are socialized to be so. Whereas women are expected to be more obedient.

They won't be going to young offenders institutions which are majority male which are all of them. So they're being sent someplace else. It's still a jail, but Secure schools and secure children's homes are just words for youth jails with more tailored support. You can watch the PMQ debates on this

Why are all the uk country subs so depressing? Like, I've been to other subs for other countries and they all seems quite lighthearted. r/england, r/wales and even r/scotland sometimes are just so...grumpy.

Would you allow your 15yo son spend 3 weeks Interrailing around Europe, visiting 8 countries, incl Amsterdam, accompanied by only a 16yo boy? And do you think the social services were right to interview the mother of the 15yo when they found out?

I mean yeah. Especially if they're going away for nearly a month.  It's a different country, different laws, different culture (albeit very similar). I think we can agree to disagree here since it seems like we have vastly different outlooks. Have a nice day 😊

I'm not arguing for parents hovering over their children, I meant that there should be an adult present. I've also had large responsibilities as the eldest child which came with lot's of freedoms but those freedoms came gradually. A mid-teenager travelling around england would be a good start, but travelling around europe alone is pushing it. These teens are a special case because their parents are wealthy and seem to have other ways of keeping them safe. An adult that looks out for them should be there at the very least like an older sibling or friend.

It does though. Europr is on the safer side but some places are generally not safe for women travelling solo. I'd say it's not a moot point since I was talking about the dangers of travelling young and how it can be unsafe even for adults. They're in their mid-teens too. I wouldn't mind if it was like 17-19 but one of them isn't even 16 yet. I would get your point about travelling in pairs if it was like a young teen-older teen duo but both a very young.

Yes it can. Difference is I know the language and culture, and I can comfortably speak up. It's different in a foreign country where I hardly know anyone and am just experiencing it for the first time as a teenager.

I mean aren't they mostly children? I get what you mean, some level of independence must be given but I can hardly blame sone people for being a little jittery about their child travelling to a different continent.

You skipped over the polish immigrant part. Why is a 3rd generation carribean person less British than the indigenous? They may have carribean influences in their life but since jamaica was a british colony, that makes a bit of sense.
