I’m not saying Iran isn’t dangerous, they are and this is a good opportunity for their people to gain freedom. I’m saying dangerous isn’t the same as an immediate threat. And that whole “we don’t need anyone’s permission to destroy our enemies” mindset is exactly the problem. If every country used that logic, we’d be in constant war.

So you’re asking your husband to fully prioritise your faith and your vision for your kids.. which he’s agreed to. I think there has to be some space for his family too. They’re the grandparents. Completely shutting them out of moments that are important to them feels rigid. Respect goes both ways. On the “confusion” point, kids aren’t that fragile. Going to a mosque once in a while for a funeral isn’t going to derail their faith or identity. They’re going to grow up in a world with far more complex and conflicting messages than that. seeing different traditions respectfully doesn’t seem an issue. It is a bit sad to let this create such a divide.

I feel what the US and Israel are doing is wrong. It doesn’t feel like there was any real imminent threat that justified this kind of response. I get that a lot of Iranian people want change and freedom from their regime, that’s valid but I don’t believe bombing them is about helping them. It feels like the situation is being exaggerated and used as an opportunity. Once you start something like this, it doesn’t just stay controlled, it spirals. Conflicts like this always get messier, more complicated, and ordinary people end up suffering the most. And honestly, I don’t think they (us/isreal) are concerned for the Iranians in this. It feels more strategic than humanitarian. Like this was a moment they decided to act on, knowing they could frame it as necessary.

Personally I feel it isn’t. That is just from my experience. I’m from mat region, and I feel it is more Balkan and mountain.. I only got the Mediterranean vibe around Sarande.

Leave, even though it may not seem like an option as you’ve spent so long at home.. you’ll have cptsd, this will never get better until you start taking care of yourself and choosing you even if it may seem selfish (I think some Balkans people prefer to please parents). Life goes at the blink of an eye, you’ll only regret the things you didn’t do and not choosing you. Also, I feel like Balkan parents will probably never understand. They also have so many years of their own unresolved trauma, it is extremely difficult for them to see their wrongs.. it’ll only cause you more hurt clashing. I wish you the best 💕

Were you or anyone you know pressured to marry within your own culture religion. How did it end up?

My dad always had a preference that I marry an Albanian guy, but he didn’t say anything once I started dating a non Albanian (white European guy). Everyone in my family accepted him I instantly. We are married now and happy. I think it may have been a different situation if he was non European though.
