I feel what the US and Israel are doing is wrong. It doesn’t feel like there was any real imminent threat that justified this kind of response. I get that a lot of Iranian people want change and freedom from their regime, that’s valid but I don’t believe bombing them is about helping them. It feels like the situation is being exaggerated and used as an opportunity. Once you start something like this, it doesn’t just stay controlled, it spirals. Conflicts like this always get messier, more complicated, and ordinary people end up suffering the most. And honestly, I don’t think they (us/isreal) are concerned for the Iranians in this. It feels more strategic than humanitarian. Like this was a moment they decided to act on, knowing they could frame it as necessary.

I’m not saying Iran isn’t dangerous, they are and this is a good opportunity for their people to gain freedom. I’m saying dangerous isn’t the same as an immediate threat. And that whole “we don’t need anyone’s permission to destroy our enemies” mindset is exactly the problem. If every country used that logic, we’d be in constant war.

Agreed. The US intervention will only cause more instability than needed and will bring other nations into the conflict, turning it into a proxy war. Worse, the fallout will be even bigger than what we saw in Iraq and Syria, with larger number of casualties and more refugees. And the migrants that will arrive will cause the far right to surge in popularity because, devout muslim or not, for them there is no difference and that they are only a danger.

I agree this is not about Iranians well-being it's about strategic positioning and US/Israel power and benefits. But i also can't discard the fact that consequently there's now an opportunity for Iranian people to choose their own path without worrying if they're gonna get executed or tortured.

In my view, what happened was effectively an illegal act by the U.S., and Khomeini was ultimately undermined by people within his own circle. I believe the CIA not Mossad played a significant role, including alleged support and equipment flowing to demonstrators. 0% of Iranian diaspora would move back to Iran if regime fell. 0% of improvement to the people would happened if regime fell. I don't believe Trump will work with the Iranians to install a new regime with a real mandate. I am absolutely convinced not only he doesn't care about the Iranian people as he claims, but he actually disdains them. I think installing an American puppet through force is not impossible. Yes it will need a longer conflict and "boots on the ground" but predictions that republicans voters will turn away from MAGA in case of war have been proven wrong. I think an American puppet is our best scenario. Worst scenario, is bomb everything for a week until Iran is neutralised completely as a threat. Then allow the same regime, or any other extremist group that can force themselves to power to take power ***on the condition that it serves Trump's interests****.* Of course the only winner here would be Trump.

There wont be a regime change no matter how many bombs they drop, no matter how many high ranking leaders they kill. There is no military opposition that could utilise the bombings for a coup afaik. Therefore best case scenario is this "12 days war" and nothing happens except they killed a bunch of civilians for minor military victories. Or there is ground invasion and we will have iraq, libya, afghanistan 2 and a refugees crisis in Europe that will seal the coffin on the rise of the far right.
