During the media roundtable at the recent IAA Munich Mobility Show, Mercedes-Benz CTO Markus Schäfer, who is also CEO of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team, spoke of the benefits to Mercedes production cars of having access to both the company's F1 engine division (the former Ilmor Engines, in Brixworth, UK) and the racing team in Brackley, UK. He said that the Mercedes engineers collaborated with the racing engineers on recent projects like the EQ XX and the AMG GT XX, but that the main benefit that he sees is the adoption of the quick-responding, can-do mindset of the racing engineers. Check out my walk through the Mercedes display at the show. They introduced the new electric GLC the night before the show opened and it was a pretty exciting event! [https://youtube.com/shorts/oqLrGdPFEYo?si=o\_teOP1EAbEynLj1](https://youtube.com/shorts/oqLrGdPFEYo?si=o_teOP1EAbEynLj1)

It was nice to see so many great new vehicles introduced at the IAA show this year, along with some fun concept vehicles and emerging technologies like solid-state batteries. The Munich show still hasn't regained its Frankfurt-era stature, but it has gotten better with each show since the move, and the huge manufacturer booths in the show's downtown portion definitely recall those glory years. It didn't hurt that the weather was very nice this year too!

Yes, I was debating between this one and that one, but decided to post it here because this seemed like the place where people come to learn things they don't already know, and the engineers over there will more likely already understand such fundamentals. But maybe not. Thx.

Yes, probably so. Though I'd expect that reaction would be more valid if the topic of this post was some currently topical subject and not a four-year-old article explaining fundamentals of potential interest.
