I have been playing in last couple of weeks as I feel it’s the perfect lottery to win. It’s enough for me to retire and spend time with wife and kids, but not too much to go crazy and leave the family and lose my mind 😭😂

Did anyone just about get used to new absurd UK restaurant prices, to find that the price has once again gone up almost 20% in the last year?

No USA should have been a proper empire and not taken everything from us at our most desperate times. This so called special relationship we have is phony ballony. France should have paid us to to come and defend them under the same conditions USA gave us.

As a person who had a manager do this to them! Run for the hills. I spent 5 months in this type of role with this type of manager. Nothing you do will be good enough. I quit on Friday and had a job by the Monday . I am currently happy in but my mental health was/ is in the bin because of those 5 months I wish I quit on day 1. Was totally not worth it .

Posted by Longlostneverland@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 291 comments

Constant_System2298@reddit

Would I tell my kids they were fat absolutely not, would I ever let my kids get fat. No. I’m from an African household if you are fat you will hear about it. Some will say it in an endearing way, but my father will tell you being fat says a lot about self love. You need to love yourself first then theirs no way you can be fat.

I don’t care what you have in the bank. I’m talking about people who have worked all their lives needing support for 3 months while they get another job. We are not talking about people who never worked and actually don’t want too. Real difference here. Anyway we all know the middle class and upper working class in the country are the ones who are always screwed !

Constant_System2298@reddit

I’m not sure what the argument is here? I have put money in the pot , the country has benefited. I have also set money aside for my emegency e.g boiler etc. if I lose my job I need the government to ignore my emegency fund because I have no job and pay me as such. Not to say spend your 16K then come back to us when you are really starving. I still need to make mortgage payment etc. the least they can do is ignore my 16K

Constant_System2298@reddit

Exactly ! Great point. people want to forget that we are the tax payers, don’t give me that net contributor / benefitor because most people who have 16K would be net contributors. In Germany if you lose your job is 3 months full pay from the tax payers. I believe that’s brilliant gives you a fighting chance.

Constant_System2298@reddit

& I think that is absolutely ridiculous. So I pay into the system, then when I need the system to have my back it essentially says, hey I need you begging and damn near the breadline before I help you out ! Silly in my eyes.

What Are Your Thoughts on Homework in a Primary School?

Posted by LJB12345@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 227 comments

Constant_System2298@reddit

Homework is for Parents who either don’t know how to teach their children or need help, helping their children learn. Everyday me or my wife will do English and maths 30 minutes each with our daughter. We both work full time. Average 50 hours a week my daughter has an after school activity Monday-Friday 4:30 not back in the house until 6. And she is in bed by 8pm don’t tell me there’s no time. There is time for things you care about.
