Where do you go to buy BBQ food?

It's not as hard as they make out. I don't own my own company technically (though I am a freelancer), I'm not one of their required professions, but I simply used my public liability/drone insurance (which I sometimes have to use for a minor part of my work) and told them I run a drone aerial surveying company. That did the trick. It is 100% worth it for stuff like this, or just buying meat in general if you have a freezer. I do a "yearly shop" where I buy all the household products from cleaning stuff to washing tablets, to bathroom supplies, shower gel, handwash, basically anything non-food and it saves a fortune. Fill the freezer with meat, cheese (cheddar slices freeze well and you can simply melt them in seconds), few other bits. Also great for dry/tinned cupboard stuff provided it isn't "once opened use within 4 weeks".

Why? This is the entire point of Reddit, right? Any google results will be full of AI bollocks or companies trying to insist that their product is the best.

Same, wasn't quite born in the 87 storm, but remember one in the early 90s, must have been the 1990 one. We lost a few tiles from the roof above the bathroom, and I remember looking up at the ceiling being disappointed/confused I couldn't see through to the sky.

That was 2022, July 19th to be precise. First time it ever went over 40 in the UK. I was working in an air conditioned office on the day, and upon leaving into a narrow city street that had been in the shade all day, I thought "eh, it's not that bad" then turned a corner into the sun and it was like opening an oven door. Drove about an hour home with the aircon on full blast. Almost new car at the time so it was working well. All vents on, fans on full, recirc once it got cold. I was actually chilly and shivering a bit when I got home. Turned the car off on the drive and could almost hear a "thud" sound as I felt the heat through the drivers window, and quickly realised "that, was a mistake". I could either just stay in the car for an hour or so gradually knocking the temperature up, or just get out and face it in one go. Decided on the latter but fortunately our house is very well insulated which meant with the blinds and curtains left shut all day, it was fine inside. Then I remember that evening it went pretty cool after sunset, so all in all I hadn't got to experience the hottest ever day in the UK at all.

If you thought a close friend was pissed off with you, would you ask the outright?

His mum made them, capitalising on the popularity of the books. She got the rights to make the toys and started selling them en masse. They went from a relatively poor family to being able to afford to send him to Repton, where he met a lad called Andy Wilman. I heard some years later they made a car show or two on the tele...

Yeah, snooker balls were already the colour they are now, but he started televising snooker when he was BBC2 controller as a way to highlight the fact "this is now watchable on colour TV when it wasn't on B&W." It massively boosted snooker's popularity in the UK, and indeed further afield, as it was previously a much more niche sport that few people followed.
