Volkswagen locks horsepower behind paid subscription

“Lifetime subscription” does not mean ownership. Lifetime does not mean your lifetime, it does not mean the cars lifetime, it does not mean VW’s lifetime, it just means until we don’t support it anymore. It’s just naive to think of it as equal to ownership.

Probably because a lot of us have experienced “lifetime” guarantees by companies that then later are not honored. If it’s a lifetime guarantee then there is no need for the word subscription.

Their styling is very cheap looking because of all the sharper aggressive lines. They look like Hondas, Toyotas, Kias, Subarus… more expensive cars are sleeker like Audi, Range Rover, BMW…

Me too, that’s what I’m talking about. They have so many body lines and angles and headlights/taillights that are all over the place. Honda and Toyotas lol like they had a clay model of a normal car and then played fruit ninja with it. It’s like they try way too hard to make them look sporty. I just want a smooth easy car.

Makes more sense most of the time than lifting them. I mean I hate them both but most people with trucks are at most moving stuff from Home Depot garden center, might as well have the convenience of the lower bed.

The reason people think VWs are not as reliable as Japanese cars is because they are not. It’s just statistics. They do break more and they do cost more to fix. Your random anecdotal “well I see more…” means nothing and is probably more confirmation bias than anything.

I’m having trouble following how you are speaking (no condemnation, thanks for engaging) I wouldn’t outright say every union is or always will be good but am yet to see one that is anywhere close to as bad as the companies on the other side. Never seen a union I would consider straight up evil. I don’t get the cyberpunk dystopia reference, maybe it’s a video game thing, sorry. San Francisco port authority, do you mean the longshoreman and warehouse union? They are great and have fought for their members hardcore which benefits everyone in the working class. I’m sorry I don’t know what “bet bloated” and “rent seeking” are. Multiple unions, there are multiple unions. But if you mean breaking unions up so it’s easier on the companies, then no that’s ridiculous and defeating the purpose of unions. Which is what companies want because they want to take advantage of workers. Unions should be big enough and strong enough that businesses feel like they have to please them as much as they would stock holders or board members.

I didn’t say I had any research, just asked questions that you engaged with up until I figured you wouldn’t want to answer because I’m sure the only answers you could honestly put up would be a bit (hummm let’s say) exposing.
