In the early 2000s, 3Dlabs with their Wildcat line were up against NVIDIA and ATI — a last real push from a company that had been pioneering in OpenGL, before being taken over by Creative and slowly fading out of existence.

The short‑lived AGEIA PhysX card — when paired with a GPU — brought enhanced physics effects to a handful of games. Introduced in 2006, it lasted only a few years before NVIDIA acquired AGEIA and integrated PhysX directly into their GPUs
