If you want to manage it at the DNS level, then just update the host records. If you want to handle it at the application level, use a reverse proxy.

I just tried it for the first time. I'm a KDE or XFCE guy, because gnome always tends to get in my way. That being said, I do like the built in tiling they added to gnome.
