I was curious what my parents did for fun before the internet…

I asked my 23 siblings and they didn’t know either.

Go outside, physically interact with each other, if you wanted to see what someone was up to go knock on their door, not be overly concerned about everyone else, watch 1 of 20 channels on TV. Ugh I'm only 37 and remember the days before the internet and it was great. Much simpler.

20 channels? Weren't you Mr Fancy-pants. Back when I was a boy, I had the choice of 3 tv channels. All of them black and white.

And they turned off at midnight till 6 or 7 am

And when the broadcast resumed in the morning it would start with the national anthem. Oh, and early Sunday morning there would be a broadcast of a church service.

In South Africa during apartheid, they were so racist that pre-colour TVs were just call 'white'.

Do you know why Mormon women stop having children at 34? Because 35 is just too many! I'm Mormon, I approve this joke.

Talk with friends on the phone, it’s considerably slower as you can only talk with one person at a time.

The greatest officially recorded number of children born to one mother is 69, to the wife of Feodor Vassilyev (b. 1707–c . 1782), a peasant from Shuya, Russia. In 27 confinements she gave birth to 16 pairs of twins, seven sets of triplets and four sets of quadruplets.

Bad memory of mine... I decided to start being more extroverted and make small-talk with random people at stores and whatever. I tried this while at Walmart and hit it off pretty well with this one guy. And then he started telling me about this group he was in that turned out to be a cult. And he was also into MLM stuff. Like COME ON, give me a chance here.

A woman passes away 6 months after her husband. The funeral is attended by many friends and their 27 children. During the service one friend says to another that it’s great that they are going to finally be together. The other guy says that he’s only been gone 6 months. The first responds that he means her legs.

Social media is weaponized communications . In the past most people didn't care what other people did or didn't do.But now..If you feel broke...unattractive....isolated and devalued in every way possible .... social media has done its job.
