King Schools Instrument is raising more questions than answers

When I used King schools for the private pilot portion I loved Johns explainations and super cheesy jokes that aren't ever funny. But man, did it work. I have retained so much. So I fgured that I would go ahead and purchase the instrument course. This was about a year ago. I purchased the program on sale and decided I would wait until I was ready to start my instrument training.
Well, I'm about 110 hours in, and I'm ready to start my training, but going through the videos has been raising significantly more questions than answers. I feel like they are going too fast. And, nothing against Martha, but for some reason when John talks it sticks. Shes the main one teaching this time around. It's the same style just delivered differently i don't know...
I can't do a refund, and I'm not looking to spend the money to buy a whole new course. I'd try sportys or something but its too expensive, I don't want to buy two instrument courses.
Any thoughts? Is there a free, or cheap option to help me not just pass the test, but understand the material?
