The manager says "Great!, I'll lay them off ASAP."
The next day the manager arrives at work with no employees in sight, and says to the AI, "All the employees are gone, how do we replace them?"
The AI responds, "First, reposition Shawna's desk next to the window, that way the sun can keep her pens warm instead of her having to lick the tip. Then, pick up Rick's desk and re-place it next to the copy machine, he knows how to fix it best whenever there's a problem with it."

Reminds me of a company i worked for in the 90s.
Sent a team of 4 off to reengineer the business process to fond cost savings.
After 6 months, the team presented their plan to mgmt. Said after implementation 30% of Accounting and 40% IT could be reduced.
Mgmt promptly laidoff 30% if accounting and 40% of IT.
I immediately starting looking for a new job.
