What is the difference between Wayne Gretzky, Bobby Orr and Judas ?

Judas did not play hockey.

I was thinking it was something like ‘Gretzky and Orr scored goals and Judas gored souls’ I know, it doesn’t really make sense.

This has upvotes, so I assume there is something I'm missing?

Judas is a known traitor. I’m not a hockey fan so I don’t really know the rivalries, but Gretzky and Orr both played for multiple teams, so maybe those second teams were rivals to their first.
Waramp@reddit
They’re both Canadian but huge MAGAts.

Gretzky betrayed his country.

I don't think the Blackhawks are considered big rivals to the Bruins, though they did play in the Stanley Cup finals against one another somewhat recently. They were both original 6 teams, but the Bruins hate the Canadiens the most, followed by the Leafs, and then a distant third would be the Rangers or Flyers due to proximity and crossover rivalries with other sports (Red Sox-Yankees, Celtics-76ers).

It's an anti-joke. The punchline is just the most obvious thing.
Vic_Hedges@reddit
But what's the difference between Gretzky and Orr?
ahamel13@reddit
In terms of the joke, nothing. Jokes typically list things in threes, so they took two hockey players and one non-hockey player.
LegendOfKhaos@reddit
Right, but then there are still two listed without being differentiated. Most of these jokes come in pairs, anyway.
I get what the joke is trying to do, it's just not well done.
thehoodie@reddit
The joke is they're all traitors so that's not a distinguishing feature

Most Edmonton fans felt betrayed when Gretzky left, I don’t know for sure but after 10 years with Boston their fans probably felt the same way about Orr when he switched teams.

From my youth:
Jesus Saves...
GRETZKY SCORES ON THE REBOUND!
thats_handy@reddit
Vancouver had "Jesus Saves!" public art all over the place in the 1980s. There was one installation on Georgia street, where some cad spray painted "Gretzky Shoots!" right above it. It was a few months later that a third artist added "Gretzky scores on the rebound!" below that. I'm not sure whatever happened to the Jesus Saves! guy, but I hope he's okay. Him and the guy who tried using a saxophone every day to blow his brains out his ears in front of the HBC on Granville.

And what makes them all the same? None of them have ever been in my kitchen.

I'll take deep cuts for a hundred, Alex.

For anyone who doesn't get the reference (or wants to see it again), here

You forgot Connor McDavid who is on the Oilers this year. Mention McJesus to any hockey fan and they know who you mean.
Jusfiq@reddit
Before McJesus, our Lord and Saviour was Carey Price.
