Retired OB here. We learned how to perform pelvic exams with willing volunteer instructors. They were very firm about inappropriate language, including this.

Agreed. I was an overnights ER nurse when I accidentally said this back in 2008-ish. Extremely embarrassed and sincerely apologized -> Pt hadn’t even noticed.

In nursing school, a patient needed to get a biopsy done on a gluteal mass and the physician says to the resident. "Watch closely, this is how you get a piece of ass"...
The patient was not amused.

On the one hand, yes, that absolutely is the sort of terminology that the doctor should have avoided in that situation. On the other, bad luck in which patient he happened to say it in front of. I'd have laughed my ass off.
