is it possible to find a part time job as an international student, and whats the hourly rate currently and what do international students usually do in order to earn some day to day income.

depending on ur major - i think the economics/finance/business adjacent students can find part time intern positions in budapest branches of "multis". you have to know + 1 or even more in-demand foreign languages on top of english, e.g. german. the pay is minimum wage. if ur under 25 u only pay 15% tax. i'd advise against delivery work bc the only ones profitting of it are wolt/foodoras shitty corporate bums. they overwork foreigners who are unable to provide decent quality service to the customers.

Do you know the level of proficiency they look for by any chance?

Sorry, but unless you have support from home, I would not recommend moving to Hungary. It’s very expensive and you won’t be able to survive working part time.
Moreover, you have a lot of competition for jobs such as a food delivery, cleaning, etc.

Well my tuition fees and accommodation would be covered by my parents ofc, the part time is for my day to day expenses

Still, your best options would be shit-tier jobs like food delivery, that require 8-10 hours daily just to get a half decent pay. Not trying to dissuade you, just being objective here.

Exactly.
I don’t think it would be fun to move to a new country then eat instant ramen everyday since it’s impossible to buy normal food.
Even some Hungarians and other locals with full time jobs are struggling to pay bills.

I have no idea but it’s a problem for us (my wife is not Hungarian), and because of this she can’t just find a job. Work permit is not granted automatically with marriage. You have to find an employer who is willing to sign a contract with you BEFORE you get your work permit, and then you can apply to get a work permit. Obviously no employer will go through this inconvenient procedure when they can just hire a Hungarian instantly. Your best option is making money online/remotely if you have the opportunity (unfortunately we don’t).

Students can work without one as long as they are actively enrolled in a course.
