A redditor dies

He died pretty much the way he had lived: with a half-written comment in a text box and the firm conviction that he was just seconds away from correcting someone on the internet.
A typical user of Reddit, in other words. The kind who “basically has a background in STEM,” which in his case meant occasionally watching a video by Kurzgesagt - In a Nutshell all the way through, and then confidently lecturing strangers online.
So when he arrived in the afterlife, his first reaction wasn’t awe bur rather mild irritation.
“Okay… interesting depiction,” he muttered, glancing around as if preparing to ask for sources.
God appeared before him, not with grandeur or theatrics, but simply… there.
“Welcome,” God said calmly. “You may ask me one question.”
The Reddit user immediately perked up. Finally someone to correct.
But then he hesitated. One question. Just one. Even for him, that felt… inefficient.
He thought hard. Something with physics. That always sounded authoritative.
At last, he crossed his arms, put on his best “Actually…” expression, and said:
“So, honestly, why is the speed of light such a completely arbitrary, messy number? 299,792 kilometers per second? That’s obviously not very well chosen.”
A pause followed. A very patient, very ancient pause.
Then God replied:
“The speed of light is exactly 1.”
The Reddit user blinked. Once. Twice.
You could practically hear the gears in his head grinding as fragments of half-remembered relativity theory collided with unshakable confidence.
He cleared his throat.
“Uh… right, yeah. In… certain… contexts, of course.”
A brief pause.
Then, a little quieter:
"Two would have been the better choice”

Sorry, I had to do it.

Not sure what your point is. The OP’s punctuation is perfectly correct; yours would not be. But perhaps that is the point!

We'll actually, having a round figure of 3 would have been more appropriate. I lay before you the case of the Babylonians, who were able to count to 60 on their fingers. They counted three subdivisions on each finger on one hand while counting one finger on the other after each cycle. So, one cycle was 12 units, and 5 fingers extended it to 12*5=60. Leveraging the three subdivisions would have been far better than an arbitrary choice of two. OP, why don't you do some research before making such silly claims about us.
(p.s. I'm joking. I can't rant like the redditors of lore)
