What if we switched from pounds to kilograms overnight?

There would be mass confusion
Calm_Secret_1523@reddit
Your statement carries a lot of weight.
hal2k1@reddit
Weight is a force, not a mass.
In the US there is indeed "mass confusion" because mass is measured in pounds but the force of weight is also measured in pounds.
In the global SI system mass is measured in kilograms but weight is measured in Newtons.

You’re not a robot right?
Ewetootwo@reddit
Imagine walking into a pub in London and pulling out a kilogram note to buy a pint, mate!
Meranio@reddit
"That's heavy!"
Apprehensive_lad1960@reddit
The Septics will piss emselves mate, please don't confuse them more than they already are (if that's possible 😉)
lestmak@reddit
You’ve certainly considered the gravity of it all…
2BallsInTheHole@reddit
There's that word again! Is there something wrong with the Earth's gravitational field in the future?
AdMysterious1190@reddit
Great Scott! 😁
Bentup85@reddit
It would be bananas on a massive scale!
markov-271828@reddit
Like being slugged.
him374@reddit
This guy masses.
Alicam123@reddit
lol nice joke.
My brother just reminded me that Americans hate metric but use mm for their guns and bullets sizes……..
thenasch@reddit
It's worse than that, some are metric and some aren't. 9mm, .30-06, 5.56mm, .223, etc.
hide_pounder@reddit
Ant tires. LT235/75-R15
Width and aspect in mm, rim diameter in inches.

and drugs!
supacrispy@reddit
Makes me wonder what the conversion rate from British pounds sterling to kilograms would even be
NYY15TM@reddit (OP)
The same as from Schrute Bucks to Stanley Nickels
Gosa_on_the_wind@reddit
We would be 2.2 times heavier.
NYY15TM@reddit (OP)

(OP didn’t say switch to using kilograms instead of pounds. Our pounds become kilos.)
Githyerazi@reddit
IE: I now weigh 200 KG instead of 200 lb. So, heavier.
Reedy_Whisper_45@reddit
Oof. I'm gonna need a bigger chair.
Odd_Tea_2100@reddit
Weight for it.
LordCouchCat@reddit
Serious comment - a number of European countries (including France!) use "pound" (livre etc) as exactly 500g. The pound was used across Europe before the metric system, varying a bit, but was about half a kg or a bit less. Similarly in China there's at least one traditional unit that is now defined as a simple metric figure.
melpheos@reddit
That’s heavy !
dave200204@reddit
I'm just going to start throwing stones at the next person to suggest this.
SuspiciousPeanut251@reddit

montybob@reddit
On balance it’s a bad idea
ncopland@reddit
It would be GREAT! And meters and millimeters and centimeters, too!
2BallsInTheHole@reddit
Are you talking length? Or girth? I need to know.
retiretobedlam@reddit
I think this would really tip the scales.
Sandy_NSFW_@reddit
The end of obesity.
