Job opportunities in Budapest as a German?

Hello,
I hope this subreddit is the right place for this question.
I am a German, living and working in Germany. I have a BSc in Industrial Engineering and currently work as a Data Engineer making around 52 000 € a year before taxes. This is my first job and i started 1.5 years ago.
My girlfriend is a student living in Budapest. I want to move there. I am happy with moving to this city. I just dont know how to do that job wise. I would only need to be there for 2 years, then my girlfriend graduates.
I dont think I will get anything close to my current salary if I get a job in Budapest.
At the moment it is unsure if I can do remote work from there, because my company is hesitant. And I want to explore my options.
Any advice on getting a well paying job there? Or should I study for 1 year and try living there like this? I know that atm a lot of companies go to Easter Europe and open up branches so I guess there is some career opportunities there. I just need advice in finding a good one. Full Remote work with only 2 years of experience is though to find.

You will be making 25.000 EUR gross / year maximum.
67% of that is the net.

Can you ask your current company to be remote ? Try that route first

You'll have no problem getting a job as a german native with a degree and some work experience in the IT field as a junior (if you don't mind starting It over in IT).
However, your starting salary will be around 25000 € a year.
You can still specialize and work your way up but It's gonna take some time.
As german speaker experienced network engineer / software developer / IT project manager you can get close to 50000 € in Budapest, but you're still gonna be taxed 33.5%

There is an open Data Engineer position on the Bosch Budapest webpage. Maybe you can earn 36,000 Euros per year before taxes with it. And this is considered very good for this company in this economic situation (unfortunately). But love has never been a cheap pastime, it requires sacrifices.

Data Engineer avg. gross salaries in HU, according to Hays Salary Guide
0-3 yrs - 900k HUF/month 3-5 yrs - 1500k HUF/month 5+ yrs - 2000k HUF/month
Net is 66,5% of gross (flat-rate taxation), yearly is 12x monthly

You will compete against locals. I don't think you will face many disadvantage in general, as a matter of fact being a native German speaker might come handy. However don't expect 52k € as an annual salary. 2/3 or half of that is more realistic. Price of living here is more cheap then in Germany as well, but overall you will have a worse life quality. You will have less money for savings, etc.
If you ask me, no woman worth giving up your early career and moving to Hungary, but its your choice of course.

Yeah, it will be the half of that in Budapest.

LinkedIn is your friend, basically all of the larger multinational companies are advertising there. Mind you, if you find one most likely would be hybrid and not fully remote. Also, the job market sucks so you'd need to be a bit patient.

I know a german person who got a job in a very similar field, he was also in an exact same situation (hungarian girlfriend), so I can just say it's not impossible. I guess you should just apply to as many positions as possible in your field - the data field is not oversaturated in Hungary yet, so you might find something, as in many multinational companies the working culture is English and thus knowledge of Hungarian is not strictly necessary. Maybe if you apply for German companies (like Deutsche Telekom IT Solutions Hungary your native German knowledge would even be considered a plus.
