Any Indian students still waiting for Hungary study visa?

Hey everyone,
I’m an Indian student going to Hungary on a study visa (applied through the Embassy of Hungary in Delhi). My classes have already started, but I’m still waiting for my visa.
For those of you who applied either through the Embassy of Hungary in Delhi or the Consulate in Mumbai — how long did your visa take to come through? Are any of you still waiting?
Do you think it would help if we all emailed the Embassy of India in Budapest together to make them aware of the delays Indian students are facing?
Would love to hear your timelines and see if others are in the same boat.

When did you apply? And have you received any further updates on the timeline, for. e.g. them accepting your application?

I applied early Sept and yes they did take biometrics

In the best case scenario it takes around a month. So wait a little. But you can also email them, to ask for a status update, but I'd say it will take abother two weeks at least. You've applied a bit late tbh.

I applied to student visa in Hungary on 11th of August and I had my Visa interview on 25th of August, but I still haven’t heard back. When I contact the embassy, They say it’s still under process it’s been more than 40 days.

If you applied early in September, I think you need to wait a little; it's still too early to expect a response. In 2022, I applied in July and was only able to get it in late August, just before I had my flights booked. One month is the ideal time they take to process, but if you are lucky, it may be sooner.

i am pretty sure you will have more luck asking on indian subs, or at least in r/budapest . though i think visa related study delay is not a rare issue with intl students. better communicate with ur uni and explain ur situation, other u r risking ur seat

r/budapest is not a place to ask about visas and immigration or looking for others in the same situation, as it is not related to the city (it is just the destination, not the cause).
