Call transfer issue

Hi everyone.
A user transfers all calls from his landline to his mobile phone. That's how he has been working for several years. He tells me it doesn't work anymore : "my mobile phone shows "call transfered" but I never receive the phone call".
I checked our TOIP portal if the call transfer is correctly set up : nothing has been modified. I try to transfer to another number : it works fine. I remove the SIM from the phone put it back again still NOK. I put the SIM card in another mobile phone, the call transfer is OK.
Now that I believe the phone is the issue, I reset the network parameters, check the APN settings. Still NOK. Not finding the solution I'm preparing to replace his phone but he's using his company mobile phone as a personal mobile phone so it's full of data so I try to find another solution.
I see that he has blocked more than 100 phone numbers (scam,...), a colleague looks into it and ask me to save as a contact his landline, we then find it in the list of blocked numbers...
Once unblocked the call transfer works perfectly fine again.

"I didn't want to be disturbed while doing some important work, so blocked the number".
Important work is anybody's guess.
Had same with the infamous DND.

When I worked cellular tech support having angry people ready to cancel services over their own number blocking "accidents" wasn't an uncommon occurrance at all.. that's why testing SIMs in other phones is truly valuable troubleshooting.

I get a similar thing with our email filtering -my super urgent emails stopped arriving - there in the personal block list...

Seen that in a DNS setting. User was smart and paranoid enough to manage to find out what kinda IP's the computers in his network connected to. Could not find out what one IP (ISP DNS) was and blocked that in firewall. Everything that connected directly to IP worked or had the DNS listing already worked fine or for a while, so he did not connect the dots. Then suddenly "nothing" worked and he claimed not to have done anything or changed anything. I knew it was a lie since he had to reinstall windows every two months over all the changes and drivers he did. Paranoid, but installed ANYTHING that came from "trusted" sources. New early alpha bios? Install. Something with the word anti-virus/malware in the name? Install!
The memories of this are the kind you just have to breathe slowly in and out to.

I use IP blocklists. One update tagged my own ISP's DNS servers as malicious. Did not realise until after I'd called to raise a ticket. Full apology to them for that.
