None. They use Gaslighting instead.
Pneuma001@reddit
There's no such thing as gaslighting.

And as a bonus they can screw the light bulbs manufacturers with bogus lawsuit for putting gaslight manufacturers out of business.

This doesn’t work. “Immoral lawyers” is too clunky and gaslighting isn’t the same as lying, which is the lawyer trope. And “immoral” is already giving away too much of your punchline. It is an ineffective description that doesn’t add to the joke.
I believe I’ve heard this joke told with “narcissists”. But you could probably use “abusers”, “cheaters”, or some other group of people that are ubiquitously understood to be emotionally manipulative & dishonest.
Again, even if you said “criminal defense attorneys” or “civil litigation attorneys” or just plain “lawyers”, I don’t know how well it would work because there is an interpersonal, emotional component to gaslighting that makes it different than just being a synonym for “lying”.
Maybe just post the original version of it with narcissists. Taking “public domain” jokes and playing mad libs with them doesn’t always work. This one doesn’t. Sorry.

You got big options on this joke

I went in that direction because I thought immoral lawyers won't have good points to make their arguments so they'll just gaslight the victim instead by asking them tricky questions or wording that questions in a way that works against the victim, if that makes any sense.

None of that is gaslighting though so their point still stands.
It's a clever joke though!

No, it isn’t. See, now, you’re gaslighting.

Ohh Really! (Heavy Sarcasm)

It sounds like the problem here is that you have a fundamental misunderstanding of the definition of gaslighting.
Gaslighting: to manipulate (someone) into questioning their own sanity or powers of reasoning using psychological methods
Lie: an intentionally false statement
“While lying can be a component of gaslighting, gaslighting is a form of psychological manipulation where someone deliberately and systematically undermines another person’s perception of reality, often through lying, to gain control or sow doubt”
“While both lying and gaslighting involve untruths, gaslighting goes beyond simple deception by attempting to make someone question their own reality and perception of events, whereas lying is primarily about presenting something untrue.”

At lease SOMEONE knows what gaslighting means.
“I’m not gaslighting you. You’re just fucking crazy.”

How many lawyers does it take to screw in a lightbulb? A whole team actually, it takes a whole lot of brainpower to figure out the difference between "in" and "over".

Let's plug it in and find out.
