Wifi/wifi extender tech support

Hi guys, I’ve currently got my internet modem in the garage with speeds of 1000/40 ultra NBN.
I’ve got my gaming PC in the spare room that’s right around the corner from the garage and we would have to run a long Ethernet cable for the internet to not lag.
I have tried using a wifi extender and plugging the Ethernet into it and into the PC but it’s still really laggy so the only way at the moment to play any online games is running an Ethernet from the garage and in the house for it to work.
I can always move my setup back into the garage but I would definitely prefer to be inside. Do I need to buy a better modem/wifi extender? Anything else I can do? Any advice would be much appreciated:)

WiFi extenders often give poor performance.
Have a look into Mesh systems.

And what do they do? Do I put it in the room and connect it to the internet?

Which one do I look into? What’s a good one for a reasonable price?

Mesh is the easiest way. Look for something with a back haul channel if you have a pile of stuff on your network.
